“My doctors have confirmed my diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. I am currently undergoing treatment to battle this disease that impacts tens of thousands of Americans every year.

NO ONE should have a career, especially THIRTY YEARS, in Congress.
Prayers. Not something I’d wish on anyone
Lost an Uncle to pancreatic cancer.
I hope she makes peace with her faith before the end.
For anything else I might otherwise be temped to say, “If you can’t say anything nice...”
Spewing racist bile for years caused this. No sympathy here.
No comment… 🙈🙉🙊
Wow...Barbara Jordan was a freshman when she served on the Watergate Committee.
I am sorry to hear and wish her well.
I hope she begins the process of repenting. Bad cancers often can only be slowed down, but never stopped.
My mom died of pancreatic cancer back in July last year. She ate a pretty strict diet that halted the growths, but in the end her immune system could not stop them and they grew.
Pancreatic cancer and diabetes are often related, I learned.
A bad way to die.
There are many Congresscritters whose politics and polemics I despise, but nevertheless whose souls I pity. SJL among them.
” Pardon and remission of our sins and transgressions, let us ask of the Lord.
Grant this, O Lord.
All things good and profitable for the souls and peace for the world, let us ask of the Lord.
Grant this, O Lord.
That we may complete the remaining time of our life in peace and repentence, let us ask of the Lord.
Grant this, O Lord.
A Christian ending to our life, painless, blameless, peaceful; and a good defense before the dread Judgement Seat of Christ, let us ask of the Lord.
Grant this, O Lord.”
“Prayers to her and her family no matter the politics.”
Indeed. Apparently it is a very painful disease and life expectancy after diagnosis is very short — just a few weeks. I feel sorry for her.
It’s a painful way to die. For all stages of pancreatic cancer, the one-year relative survival is 28.8% and the five-year rate is 7.9

I saw that thread a couple days ago. It was most interesting.
Oh, come on. Just a little bit of compassion?
Agree. Prayers up.
She has the opposite of my views but I wish her no harm from that terrible disease.
“NO ONE should have a career, especially THIRTY YEARS, in Congress.”
AMEN! to that, Jane. We are supposed to be a Republic with short-term representatives who do the peoples’ work for a few years and let a successor take over. The notion of CAREERists in politics is anathema to a Free Republic. Those careerists quickly become power-mad, the Republic be damned.
Prayers up for her.
Apparently it is not a particularly pleasant way to go;
and it is relatively quick as these things go.
It’s the cancer I fear the most. I’ve known 3 people who were diagnosed and they didn’t make it through the year.
That’s too bad. I’ll miss her. And that’s all I am going to say.
I lost two of my friends to pancreatic cancer in the last 5 years-both were gone within 4-5 months of finding out they had it, so they did not endure months/years of chemo and suffering. That one does not seem to be survivable and appears to be non-selective, as well-I would not wish it on anyone who was not my worst enemy. I hope she finds comfort and peace in God’s love. But I really can’t think of anything nice to say about her...
