NY Post ^ | 6/1/24 | Matthew Sedacca

Licensed gun owner Donald Trump will have to turn over all of his firearms in the coming weeks now that he has been found guilty of felonies in the Manhattan “hush money” case.

Under New York state and federal law, convicted felons are banned from possessing any type of firearm, and the former president must have his weapons legally passed off to another person or surrendered to authorities by his July 11 sentencing, criminal defense attorney Peter Tilem said.

“There is no grace period,” Tilem told The Post. “You are federally prohibited once you are convicted.”…

President Trump can do what G. Gordon Liddy did, transfer ownership to his wife.

I can see the agencies resisting the sharing of information with a convicted felon who otherwise would not have a security clearance.

What else does a snivelling fool like you 'see'?

Look what they did to Giuliani.

Yes, indeed, and good point.

Where they're headed isn't pretty.

“Shall not be infringed” means exactly what it says. When a person is released from prison, they should get all of their rights back.

Otherwise, it is cruel and unusual punishment.

Ultimately the “mob” will be back in control. They deserve what they get.

If this had been a Federal case, they he might have had to surrender his guns. But a different state? No standing! I guess the limitation is he can’t own or carry guns in NY.

He cant own or carry funs in any state now that he is a felon!

Doesn’t Congress have a slush money fund just for this purpose?

You did not know that?

Of course I knew that. I was responding to someone who wondered about people who stay in New York, and Trump for as long as he had. The Raid was a Fed thing, not a Florida thing. A Florida trial would have gone better than an NYC trial.

I’m just wondering if the Left will use his “convicted felon” status to keep him off the ballot in certain states.

I know you can run for President as a “convicted felon”, but does that stop a state from preventing him from running there?

I’m sure there’s more to the Left’s plans here. They will try to leverage this in a legal way. Count on it.

Thank you. I heard a radio conversation saying he would lose them, but could apply to have them restored - which takes time.

Good news.

As someone already pointed out-his primary residence is in Florida, not in NY-has been for several years. I haven’t read anywhere that he took back control of his businesses from Eric and Don Jr., either-he gave it over to them when he was elected...

Non sequitur.

Why? Any weapons around a convicted criminal can be dangerous. One never knows if that criminal can get a hold of one of those weapons for wrongdoing. Democrats will try to remove his secret service protection because of those weapons.

But, why did you feel the need to respond to my post?
