Licensed gun owner Donald Trump will have to turn over all of his firearms in the coming weeks now that he has been found guilty of felonies in the Manhattan “hush money” case.
Under New York state and federal law, convicted felons are banned from possessing any type of firearm, and the former president must have his weapons legally passed off to another person or surrendered to authorities by his July 11 sentencing, criminal defense attorney Peter Tilem said.
“There is no grace period,” Tilem told The Post. “You are federally prohibited once you are convicted.”…

He can get Congress to change that law in 2025.
Be interesting to see how this is handled.
I didn’t know gun owners needed to be “licensed.”
NY faggotry. Weird that a commie hell hole like VT has few restrictions.
Caller to the G Gordon Liddy show: You talk about firearms all the time, but you aren’t even allowed to own one!
Liddy: You right. I have none. Mrs. Liddy has dozens. There is no place in the house that you could confront Mrs Liddy where she wouldn’t be within arms reach of a firearm.
Don’t worry…
He won’t need them… He’ll have “F-15’s” very soon.
Melania’s shot is probably pretty good.
I’m still wondering why Trump didn’t relocate his businesses and himself to Florida before ever choosing to run for office.
Barron is 18, isn’t he? Or Melania.
I thought Trump resided in Florida. No problem there.
“must have his weapons legally passed off to another person”
I’m sure Don Jr. would love to have them.
Trump has armed guards protecting him. So, should the secret service agents have to surrender their weapons too?
NY state will come up with a law to take his golf clubs away from him...
“I thought Trump resided in Florida. No problem there.”
Depends on where his guns are located and Florida law. Many states deny felons the right to own guns. However, perhaps Trump can turn in his guns to the sheriff (i.e. authority) in Florida instead of to New York.
Likely Trump’s guns are very expensive. Often guns in the possession of authorities “disappear”. I wouldn’t trust NY to ever return them if they get possession.
Be interesting as it is usually no guns on the premisis. Does that include security?
Are his guns still in New York? He is only required to turn in his guns physically stored there. Hopefully he no longar has any there.
2. Multiple felony convictions would preclude one from receiving a security clearance.
3. The vast majority of conditions of parole and probation have restrictions on movement. The most common one is being prohibited from leaving the jurisdiction (the state or commonwealth)
Just some of the stuff that I think of between periods (Hockey)
“”I’m sure Don Jr. would love to have them.””
He is a hunter....the book he wrote, “Triggered” is a great read...highly recommend it...
This is an interesting question.
Since Trump was convicted under New York STATE law why would guns in Florida (which is not subject to NYS law) have to be surrendered?
