Donald Trump is a licensed gun owner — here’s what will happen to his firearms after his felony conviction
NY Post ^ | 6/1/24 | Matthew Sedacca

Licensed gun owner Donald Trump will have to turn over all of his firearms in the coming weeks now that he has been found guilty of felonies in the Manhattan “hush money” case.

Under New York state and federal law, convicted felons are banned from possessing any type of firearm, and the former president must have his weapons legally passed off to another person or surrendered to authorities by his July 11 sentencing, criminal defense attorney Peter Tilem said.

“There is no grace period,” Tilem told The Post. “You are federally prohibited once you are convicted.”…

I didn’t know that. The guy has played with everybody.

“Katy Lied” isn’t a bad album, but I like SD’s albums with Jeff Baxter better.

As long as Trump resides in Florida it’s the responsibility of Florida Law Enforcement to enforce it, and I doubt they’ll exactly be busting their butts to do so.

True, and he will also lose his right to vote.

"I’m still wondering why Trump didn’t relocate his businesses and himself to Florida before ever choosing to run for office."

Not easy to relocate assets since much of his is in real estate. How would he relocate Trump Tower? I would imagine many of his holdings have a Board of Directors. They would have much say over relocation.

I thought he did changed his residency to Florida. Also, although he fought and won the stupid Russia Hoax, I'm not sure he or his lawyers saw this twisted manipulated NYC suit coming.

“”””2. Multiple felony convictions would preclude one from receiving a security clearance.””””

Being President is its own security clearance, the President is the highest authority in the Executive Branch and the ultimate power of the security clearance authority, there is no security clearance deciding agency or office above his.

The problem is they wouldn’t be able to keep guns “in proximity” to a convicted felon.

DeSantis has already said Trump’s FL voting rights will be ‘restored.’ Which are the only ones he uses. Don’t know if same process can take care of his FL gun rights. But guns at non-FL Trump residences require thought and action to the extent local anti-2A laws still apply there.

Trump’s accomplishments in New York, such as the Wollman skating rink rehab and the Trump Tower, are legendary. It was only natural for him to imagine that hometown pride would cause New York to support him. He was mistaken, as he was on so many of his well intentioned appointments as President.

His felony is a non-violent felony:

He’ll probably keep his guns, just can’t use them.

I don't blame the jury - the judged rigged the trial. The run is you lose your right to own a gun? Fine. Trump can turn them over.

How do we stop democrats? It's easy.

The way to make democrats understand how horrible they are is to treat them like they've treated us. Lots of democrat office holders have committed misdemeanors in the last 7 or 8 years that we can bind into felonies. and I'm sure there are hundreds of 'hush money' (nondisclosure agreements) we can exploit about democrats .. and members of the liberal press and bimbos and pretentious 'men' on MSNBC.

Let's offer cash rewards for information on the above groups and take those assh*les to court. We might not get convictions that will stand but we sure as hell can teach them that what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

And no one should back down because we don't want to be as bad as they are... we need to treat them like they treatr us., Just like they did to Trump. And we need to jail their 'protesters'. Label everything they do as an 'insurrection. Be them. Turn their style of hate back on them. Never let up. YOU see a democrat - you express hatred toward them. No one is above the law - let's test that out on them for once.

“Since Trump was convicted under New York STATE law why would guns in Florida (which is not subject to NYS law) have to be surrendered?”

Federal law prohibits felons from possessing firearms; doesn’t have to be a federal felony.

I’m not arguing any of this is right, but that is my understanding of current law.

Trump can simply pardon himself after he is reelected. When the commies protest, Trump can point to Biden pardoning himself before he leaves office to prevent convictions on numerous crimes.

When all of what we’re discussing here is pounded home by the commie media Trumps poll numbers are going to take a beating. Electing a president that can’t vote? That’s not going to sit well with lots of people.
