Trump has been convicted. Here's what happens next

The charges against Trump are Class E felonies, the least serious category under New York law...Experts tend to think it is highly unlikely that Trump will face any jail time as a result of the hush money verdict...Due to the immense and complex challenges of incarcerating a former president, the judge might instead opt for a sentence of house arrest...The U.S. Constitution...does not bar felons from holding its highest office.

We can all recall horrible, breathtaking events by Democrats, that should have been condemned and rioting ensued. We are being FORCED to bend the knee.

My four most egregious are: (not counting the insidious lies from Biden, which are too numerous to recall)

Biden’s obvious theft of the election and the J6 death of Ashli Babbitt
Nancy Pelosi ripping up Trumps state of the Union speech.
Bidens open threats ot Americans with f15s and nukes.
Biden’s recent unhinged and violent State of the Union.

” the judge might instead opt for a sentence of house arrest”

BULL. This judge has already show he is unstoppable and will do what he wants. Trump is going to Rikers and then some state Prison to keep him off the campaign trail.

In ALL your casual and serious conversations every day, especially with those you suspect to be Liberal Biden lovers, work in a sentence about how ‘President Trump said or says this or that etc. Over and over. Give his take on things reverence and admiration. Be polite. Be persistent. Smile. A lot. Express confidence how President Trump will set things right when he becomes President again soon. Wear MAGA hats and shirts. Laugh in thr faces of Biden idiots. They can’t stand to be mocked. Tell them President Trump forgives them their ignorance and will be a great President for them too. Remind them they won’t have to be ashamed to be an American after President Trump returns. Remind them they won’t be obligated to affirm perverts and deviants after Biden and his Communist handler Obama is gone next January. Smile. Laugh. Be joyful.

Not to mention any Republican from Nixon to Tom Delay to many Trump acolytes (and now possibly Trump himself) being destroyed for virtually nothing, while the Clintons, Obamas, Bidens et al all skate.

This first would go to the Appellate Division and a three judge panel. Their judgement would then be appealed to an en banque Appellate group. That decision would finally he appealed to The Court of Appeals. You are looking at late October at the earliest. If Bragg loses it stops, but if Trump loses then his lawyers go to the Federal Court where the process begins again. IMO there is no way that Trump can run unemcumbered by both the conviction and the provisions of incarceration. It will take a miracle for him to win, and if he should that will create a crazy situation. He could be convicted and sentenced for a state crime over which federal courts have no jurisdiction and for which he could not pardon himself. We may see a situation that will make Jan 6 look like a panty raid at a college in the 50s.

From Mark Levin on X:

Mark R. Levin
@marklevinshow

Thinking further out loud

The issue is how to get out of the New York system and bring the case to the Supreme Court, which may or may not take it up. That is why I look to Bush v Gore, where the S Ct decided to step in BECAUSE it was a presidential election. There was another court involved, the Florida Supreme Court. And it was that court that the Supreme Court believed was violating the Equal Protection Clause. That was the doctrine it settled on, given the unequal treatment of voters.

In New York, you would file the notice of appeal, ask for a stay of the trial court, and seek expedited review. You need to protect your ability to timely appeal and not abandon it. You might then file applications for common law writs with the US Supreme Court, where the S Ct can take action if it chooses, and legitimately claim the harm is immediate and ongoing not just to a presidential candidate, but to the federal electoral system, federal campaign jurisdiction (reverse federalism), and the precedent that might otherwise be set and spread throughout the country. The denial of due process infected every aspect of the case.

The S Ct has common law powers (common law writs — judicially created not statutorily created) it uses very sparingly, in extraordinary circumstances, to grant relief. Waiting would compound the problem. The problem now is that every day that goes by, the actions by the NY lower court bleeds into the federal, presidential election system.

Where does this end? Will other DA’s use the Bragg-Merchan precedent, such as it is, going forward, and not care what higher state courts have to say, in that those courts may not act quickly or at all. So, now local prosecutors and state judges will intervene in presidential elections or any federal election.

We need to give the Supreme Court the opportunity to intervene. If it chooses not to, then it won’t.

But between Jack Smith criminalizing election challenges to the point that we do not know what is or is not legal, and now Bragg and Merchan criminalizing events and activities that are not illegal, to the point we don’t now know what they are, the Supreme Court, in my view, must do something.

In the end, the S Ct will not be able to avoid this forever. Better to deal with now than later, when it will get worse.

The proper prayer in every situation is that God’s will be done; He is in charge, and he knows better than we. I fear the situation is much worse than you outline; since about the American Civil War (the start of the “Progressive” movement that led first to Anarchism and then rejection of the faith, then to Communism) one sees increased evil in the world, a decay of morality, and evil triumph over good again and again, as though God’s Holy protection is fading, as He allows evil to reign in preparation for the last days when He unleashes His own wrath on the world. A part of me wants so badly to see good triumph in the world now, but realize that is just my hatred of evil and ego, and that I must trust God to do His will. So, I am prepared to see the just perish, and me, at the hands of the wicked if we are truly in the last days.

He is going to appeal the verdict and will be free pending appeal. Also, of the many cases with these charges prosecuted by the NY DA, people found guilty are not sentenced to jail. But in any case he is free pending appeal.

That means Biden cannot pardon him. He can only pardon federal crimes, right?

Not that I would want Biden to pardon him if he were allowed.

The Democrats are going to wish they never did this. Maybe not in this life, but the next one, for sure.

This has Hillary’s hurt bitch feelings all over it. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned (beaten in an election).

"Also, of the many cases with these charges prosecuted by the NY DA, people found guilty are not sentenced to jail."

Sorry but everything leading up to this point has been unprecedented. Pardon the pun but the actual charges were all "trumped" up. What got him convicted belong to the discretion of the DOD/Fed faggots, not the State of NY. This is much bigger than NY State precedent. These people have no qualms about the possibility of ordering Merchan (Who will be richly rewarded in this temporal realm) to send Trump into the slammer. "These people" will decide sentencing after gauging the reaction for a couple of months.
