I agree with Dershowitz.
Based on what? Is there any precedence for this? And why would Trump’s attorneys be happy about this?
Such a move would be transparent and result in many questions about any guilty verdict.
I don’t think a judge can switch out longer, just because that juror won’t go along with the others. Especially after less than 4 hours.

I thought something like this was 100% illegal.
You must bring in an alternate juror BEFORE all the testimony, or that new juror will know nothing about the case.
I thought alternate jurors sat through the case just like the official jurors so they can replace disqualified jurors.
That would be the whole point of alternate jurors.
That is why there has to more than one juror that refuses to convict..from what I heard there are 8 definite trump haters on this jury that leaves four left

I thought dershowitz is an attorney? He says he would be saying this guy is innocent If he was on a jury. That’s not what attorney say they say This guy is not guilty.

I was an alternate juror once, and sat through everything up to the point of deliberation. Then I was released/not needed, even though it was a couple days before they reached a verdict.
