As thousands fled Kyiv in the first days of Russia’s 2022 invasion, one 57-year-old grandmother hurried in the opposite direction. Liudmyla Menyuk was going to sign up for the army to avenge her son who’d been killed fighting the Russians almost a decade before.
Many Ukrainians of Menyuk’s age have volunteered, sometimes motivated — like she was — by the explicit wish to stand in for a youth who might otherwise die in their place. “I performed my duties well,” she told Bloomberg in an interview, “so I could save the life of a young Ukrainian.”
But the enthusiasm of Ukraine’s elder citizens compared with their younger counterparts has turned into a weakness for the country’s army, as the onslaught against it drags into a third year and it struggles to repel Russia’s advances. With his country outgunned and outmanned, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has been vocal about the country’s need for weapons — and recently reaped the reward of his appeals. He is quieter on the much more sensitive matter of the need for men.
Front-line soldiers interviewed by Bloomberg said the aid package approved by US Congress last month has started to ease pressure on equipment, which had been heavily rationed so long as the bill’s passage remained uncertain. Yet, despite a new mobilization law lowering the age of the draft, manpower remains a problem.
“Most of the people I talk to are about 40-45 years old,” said Pavlo Narozhnyi, who raises funds for artillerymen, adding that “younger people — especially younger than 30 — are relatively rare.” A senior military official speaking on condition of anonymity echoed that assessment, citing an average fighting age of 43-45.

Many young Ukrainians working remotely for foreign tech companies were moved over the border into Poland so they could continue working for them. This has resulted in older Ukrainian farmers and rural workers to be slaughtered in their stead.

Almost a decade = 8 years ago. That’s when the Russians seized Crimea.
Yea, Trump supports Ukraine but he did not allow a war to begin on his watch. He is a businessman who loves his country, and not some self-entitled elite who uses the public office elected to enrich himself at the expense of his fellow countrymen and the world - he has not blood lust.
The deep state is the MIC and Intelligence Apparatus in the US, and he cannot be elected or live in the world going against them openly. Trump has signaled that he will end this war because it is not worth lives of those engaged in the fighting, nor the risks posed to their populations and that of the entire world. People like the Biden Admin are jack-booted thugs, plain and simple. They have used NATO just like they use activist judges, to push the limits of laws and to ignore those laws they don’t much like.
NATO has tested the boundaries of every treaty, every agreement and even the duplicity of their statements are easy to see thru. They are breaking the World International Monetary Order to go after Russia, resulting in Brics.

In 2022/2023 the Biden Administration had a half dozen people come out talking to the media about how America can win a limited nuclear war with Russia. The very fact that they held these beliefs and that they are pushing attacks on Russia’s nuclear defensive radars which is an act of war, is all you need to know about Marxists - every communist country purged millions of people. I simply see a facist in the white house and recognize our Empire starting wars of aggression, from Yugoslavia, Iran and Lybia, we protect the USD. Fighting economic wars is the dying gasps of a failed empire. The US under Obama and Biden have seen the west’s greatest fear come true, with the intro of a counter curreny to the USD, Petrodollar, and Frence colonial franc. Brics is bringing a gold based currency to it’s trading bloc, and our war in Lybia was over Kaddafi starting to roll out his African gold backed currency coupled with no interest loans.
I am sick of seeing this country raped by political and global business interests, the nation’s laws destroyed, our culture destroyed... but the worst ones is the amature US representatives like Sillivan, Blinken, or Yellens destruction of our economic relationships abroad.
