CNN’s Eisen: Odds of Conviction ‘Upwards of 80%’; Trump Team Hoping One Holdout Juror
Breitbart ^ | 05/27/2024 | Pam Key

CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen said Monday on “Newsroom” that former President Donald Trump’s New York defense team hopes one juror will not follow the “evidence and law.”

Eisen said, “In terms of the arguments, battle will be joined around three issues. One: Can the jury believe the critical testimony of Michael Cohen, as it’s corroborated and supported by a mountain of evidence? In a sense, the prosecution’s entire work across 20 days of trial was to corroborate Cohen. Two: Can the jury find that Donald Trump, beyond a reasonable doubt, intentionally made that hush money payment to Stormy Daniels, 2016, in order to influence his federal campaign after Access Hollywood catastrophe, another sex scandal. Issue three: Did Trump participate in covering that up by creating false documents, Jim, including nine checks with his own signature on them.”

The verdict was decided long before the trial even commenced. Totally corrupt judge, totally corrupt prosecution, uniformly Biden worshipping Republican hating NY jurors - not a vestige of justice anywhere in the cesspool that is NYC for Trump or any other real American.

“You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.”

There are so many grounds for appeal.

The Trump team would need to file an immediate appeal, showing the extensive procedural violations, and request an expedited hearing because of the ongoing damage to the political system due to the overhanging guilty verdict.

I honestly don't think the Trump team is that bright. They seemed to get bogged down in the minutiae of the law, while being oblivious to the overriding issues. The Georgia case is a perfect example - while the Trump lawyers were debating the meaning of this word in the law, or that phrase in the law, to a prosecutor or judge who doesn't care, one of the defendant's team was looking into Fani Willis and her office, and exposing huge ethical violations.

Why couldn't the Trump team find those?

“We don’t know what the crime is...but we still find him guilty...of something.”

Is this America, or the Soviet Union in the 1930s?

I predicted seven would acquit. But now the judge plans to instruct the jury to make up any crime they want, and unanimity is not required.

Sort of looks like we can move right to sentencing.

So now a misdemeanor can be elevated to a felony if the prosecutor claims your misdemeanor was in furtherance of another felony crime which is not elaborated or officially charged. Anyone can be charged with a felony now for almost anything.

I think Trump and his team totally expect a conviction. It has to be this way. People have to be shocked awake. The public is still very complacent.

"The FBI is butt-deep in the jury process. The will have the jury room bugged, and certainly have informants inside the jury. These informants will identify holdouts for a guilty verdict, push for a guilty verdict in the jury room, and point the holdouts out for outside threats, bribes and influence."

Likely correct.

Sadly the Jan 6ers werent big enough and the public awareness was slow to catch on. Let a guilty verdict news spread like wildfire and then a jail sentence to really add gas, I think there will be a different reaction. We shall see.

There are 6 or 7 women on this Manhattan jury. If you know anything about Manhattan women, they will not need evidence to vote to convict Trump of the felony charge. That’s a given However, there are 2 male lawyers on the jury. Even if they are Democrats, they are the best chance for a hung jury as they may actually require evidence of each of the elements of the crime in order to get their guilty vote. I am thinking 1 or both of those guys are the best chance to gum up the works for Merchan to shape the jury instructions to get a felony conviction before the election.

Kind of sad that Trump’s odds at acquittal are basically 0%, is just hoping for one juror to make it hung.

As far as I can tell, Trump was simply too trusting of Cohen and Trump didn't have any knowledge of the Stormy Daniels "settlement" for her "extortion" until it came out in the media.

One of the proofs is that Cohen embezzled $30,000 because he thought he deserved it.

A hung jury wouldnt be the end, they could just start a new trial and tie him up for the next couple of months, off the trail...
