Putin ‘to arrest DOZENS of military top brass in sweeping Stalin-esque purge to pin blame on them for Ukraine failure’

The UK Ministry of Defence released a warning regarding the potential of anymore arrests coming soon

VLADIMIR Putin is set to cause a sweeping storm within Russia by arresting dozens of military top brass, say sources close to the Kremlin.

The despot is believed to be looking to pin his own failures to defeat Ukraine on a number of men as he looks to unleash his brutal Federal Security Service (FSB) agents to hunt them down.

Five military officers have already been detained in recent weeks under Putin's watch.

But sources close to the Kremlin and the Defense Ministry have sensationally revealed to The Moscow Times that the number of high profile arrests will rise in a purge of the Russian military.

Such a chilling purge wouldn't have been witnessed since the days of tyrant Joseph Stalin.

One source said: "There is a fierce cleanup underway. The FSB is mopping up [former Defense Minister Sergei] Shoigu's team. It’s to be expected.

"This kind of operation can only be carried out with approval at the very top.

“There is still a long way to go before the purges are finished. More arrests await us."...

Makes you wonder what if a bunch of Generals had been fired, who failed miserably over the last 20 years in Iraq and Afghanistan plus the debacle in the Afghanistan withdrawal

“”””And yet, the Russians are still winning.””””

As someone who assumed the massive and modernized Russian military would roll over Ukraine and absorb it in almost no time, I sure didn’t expect to see defensive statements like that one years after the invasion was launched.

150,000 dead Russians in just 2 years, while Russia slowly goes broke, is “winning”?

Keep “winning”, then! LOL

We love seeing Russia weaker!!

We turned Syria and Gaza into hellholes with our policies. And how can you defend the insane and criminal “two state solution?” We have been supporting Israel for 75 years and still we are stuck in that quagmire.

The big Russian offensive on Kharkiv has just become another fiasco for Russia.
They lost 12 to 1 soldiers on that Zombie meat-wave attack. The Kharkiv invasion is now abandoned, halted by Russia. What a waste of Russian soldiers and civilian Ukrainian lives.
No wonder there is a revolution going on in Russia’s chaotic army. They are all being sacked! Putin replacing his generals with KGB/FSB fanatic ideologues instead.

Nobody knew that Putin was going to invade Ukraine. Imagine that you’re a Russian officer training with your troops in Belarus just before the war started in February 2022. You’ve just sold all the gasoline your unit depended on. And you just got the order to invade Ukraine.

On 4-9-24 the carpy Canadian told us he was leaving FR (see below) because we’re no longer any fun for him but the carpy Canadian is still here telling Americans what to do.

Why don’t you go whine on a Canadian forum?

#179, 191, etc.

This is a good example of why FR is dying

FR used to be fun, positive, something to look forward to Now it’s just rampant bullying and personal insults every day - and you do nothing about it

So good people quietly leave ... with their donations Look, it’s your site, if you want to turn Free Republic into “Free Russia”, just keep doing nothing

But then make sure you hit up the Russia cheerleaders for your donations (funny, we never see their names on the donor board)

Go ahead, flame me, I don’t care ... I’m on my way out of FR too, it’s not fun anymore

You need to update your info on Gerasimov and other people in your photo group. Wikipedia still has him alive and well, and still Chief of the General Staff. It was rumored he was killed in an air strike, but the rumor was false.

"In late May 2024 Gerasimov's deputy chief of the Russian General Staff Vadim Shamarin was arrested for corruption. This came after the arrest of Timur Ivanov shortly before the fifth inauguration of Vladimir Putin on 7 May and consequent shuffle of Shoigu, causing Newsweek to speculate on a purge in the military."

Wikipedia also has Sergei Shoigu having been appointed as Secretary of the Security Council of Russia on May 24, 2024...two days ago.

Sergey Beseda, according to Wikipedia: "In January 2023, he was seen in Moscow at a public event, and is believed to have been likely released from house arrest. On 11 October 2023, according to the message of the head of the State Government Kyrylo Budanov, 'Beseda continues to perform his official duties.'"

Sergei Tsalikov: According to search, on or about May 14, 2024, he was arrested on corruption charges.

According to Wikipedia, Tatiana Shevtsova is still employed as Russian Deputy Minister of Defence. Online searches show nothing regarding her having quit her job.

According to the translated Russian Wikipedia page for Aleksei Krivoruchko, he is still working as Deputy Minister of Defense. Online searches show nothing regarding his having quit his position.

Oleg Frolov, Deputy Director of Russian Space Agency was arrested in 2023 on multimillion dollar embezzlement allegations.

See my comment at #38 for searches I did on Jerod's un-researched photo post:

Actual status of people Jerod alleges were canned or quit.
