CHICAGO (WLS) -- At least 10 people have been shot, two fatally, in Memorial Day weekend gun violence across Chicago, police said.

Last weekend, at least 45 people were shot, one fatally, in gun violence across Chicago, police said.

Last year in Chicago, there were 53 people shot and 11 killed over Memorial Day weekend.

The mayor is promising solving this this weekend. And here we are, just Saturday afternoon, the weekend hardly started and already have a body count.

another thread reported the mayor had a summer safety plan to help combat violence in Chicago.

Very sad to see the criminal element run rampant.

In another tread, the mayor stated that the problem in sending police to where the problems are likely to occur may cause frustration on the part of the community leading to problems in other parts of the city (not quite as diverse). He didn’t actually say the last four words, but that’s what he meant.
