Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Attorney General Ken Paxton railed against House Speaker Dade Phelan at the Texas Republican Party’s convention Thursday in San Antonio, predicting voters would oust him in Tuesday’s primary runoff election.
Phelan is fighting to keep his political career alive in a contentious race against oil and gas consultant David Covey. Patrick, Paxton and Texas GOP Chair Matt Rinaldi have all been instrumental in the campaign to unseat Phelan, a five-term Republican from Beaumont, and have derided him as a fake Republican who has handed too much power to Democrats.

Phelan needs to go so that the corruption in Houston can be cleaned up.

He's a Bush Republican. I understand his father wanted to go with Alistair or Bentley, but Mother pitched a royal *itch.
We just call him “Drunk Dade.” One of the guys who we hope to primary for being one of Drunk Dade’s toadies is my rep. I keep getting spam text messages begging me to vote for him. I send back that I’m voting for the candidate endorsed by Ken Paxton and not the candidate endorsed by Drunk Dade. Apparently someone on the other end reads them because they unsubscribed me from several numbers.
I hope he gets ejected.
Dade Phelan needs to be replaced...
And investigated and indicted.
Drag a bottle of whiskey from the back of a pick up and he will follow it all the way out.
He should resign after he loses.
Bakersfield republicans should have done the same thing with McCarthy. With Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor it took 10 years to dump all 3.
