I know you meant Mayor, and you're right, because even then, the City Council was run by RATS. When Rudy became Mayor, there were no term limits for the job. The City Council passed a law to limit it to two consecutive four-year terms. When 9/11 happened, Rudy asked to be able to remain in office just until he saw the City through the aftermath. Of course the City Council refused. Bloomberg, a life-long Democrat ran as a Republican on Rudy's coattails, and of course the gutless New York Republican State Committee gave him the go ahead instead of finding an actual, viable Conservative candidate. Bloomberg gets in office, and is close to ending his second term, and in 2007 changes his party to Independent. He petitions the RAT-controlled City Council to allow him to run for a third term. They comply with his wishes. Bloomberg gets his third term.
In 2010, a referendum to return the term limit back to two terms passed overwhelmingly. Bloomberg is succeeded by RAT Warren Wilhelm Jr. aka de Blasio for two terms. In May 2019 de Blasio announces his run for President. Four months later he suspends his campaign and endorses Bernie Sanders. In 2018 Bloomberg, by this time out of office registers as a Democrat, and has remained so ever since.
I keep hearing it said that conservatives need to become poll watchers and precinct captains, which is fine, but it isn't going to stop election fraud. The fraud happens when nobody is looking, but we also now have mail-in voting which also goes largely unmonitored. The GOP/RNC apparatus has to be willing to go to battle on election fraud in order for anything meaningful to happen, but they obviously have no interest in doing so.
