President Joe Biden immediately corrected another gaffe during a speech on Monday in which he falsely claimed that an American hostage “being held by Hamas” is now safe.
The president issued his gaffe during a celebration of Jewish heritage at the White House wherein he acknowledged Hersh Goldberg-Polin as being “here with us today” even though he remains held by Hamas.
“My administration is working around the clock to free the remaining hostages, just as we have freed hostages already. And here with us today is Hersh Goldberg-Polin,” Biden said at the rose garden party.

Well, at least he didn’t claim to have personally sent his Hero Son Beau to rescue Hersh, and Beau died from wounds received in the rescue.
Yet, anyway.

He should have called out for help from Jackie Walorski again (she died August 3, 2022).

Biden originated it but dead people and hostages held by Hamas cannot comply. They aren’t there.
Better “Would everybody in the audience who was kidnapped but is now back from having been a hostage of Hamas please stand up?” “If you’re currently dead you can remain seated.”

So I let them hold me by my ankles as we flew over the Hamas camp, me with my head staying above the hollowed out building walls, and I reached down and grabbed the hostage and pulled him up, with rapid fire automatic weapons lighting up the night on both sides of us. Back into the chopper and on to the carrier and back to DC.
