WHY YOU CAN'T BE AN IRAN HAWK AND A RUSSIA DOVE
Institute for the Study of War ^

A Russian victory is an Iranian victory. Moscow and Tehran have formed a military bloc with the aim of defeating the United States and its allies in the Middle East, Europe, and around the world. Russian and Iranian military forces have been fighting alongside one another in Syria for nearly a decade.

You provide primo laugh material.
For that we thank you!

We each have our calling.

As well as 3-4 million Ukrainians.

Given a choice between peace and nuking Russia I am going with nuking Russia. It is the bold weak minded stroink as bullshit move that folks like USA FRANCE advocate here.

Here is an analogy:

Person A says:
“Antifa attacked my neighbors’ homes, they killed everyone, and burned their homes to the ground.
So now I consider Antifa as my enemy and I’m ready to fight them off and eliminate them if they attack my neighborhood again!”

Ukraine is Russia's next door neighbor. They are not our neighbor. Ukraine is not in our neighborhood. From D.C. to Kiev is almost 5,000 miles. Liberia is closer than Kiev. Should we intervene in African disputes "in our neighborhood" as well?

Even worse, many of us lived in urban areas where Antifa violence occurred and our government did nothing to protect us. But they want us to pay for something going on 5000 miles away. Thank you for making mincemeat of FRANCIS here.

I haven’t sent any comments to you.
So your answer above is most probably directed to another person here on Free Republic.

Unless you felt personally concerned when I mentioned the the “Dirty Dozen” here on FR who are wholeheartedly supporting the rich Kremlin deep-state elite against the poor and “deplorable” Russian people?

Racist hegemony in our backyard but not on the Eurasian Steppe. That sounds racist to me.

The problem is the same idiocy that Condi Rice spouted about not recognizing sphere of influence, which is sort of a law of physics. You can project a lot more power locally, more quickly, forcefully and cheaply than to a landlocked area 5000 or 10000 miles away.

Ivan Ilych was a novella written by Tolstoy first published in 1886. What could Tolstoy have possible written about Putin?

Aleksandr Dugin hates the United States, as much as you hate Russia. Should I take it that you scheme to take over Russian, as he schemes to take over the U.S.?

But again, you are taking the opinions of others who say that Putin is somehow controlled or at the very least, this man has extreme influence over Putin. Even if he did, I do not think Putin has the ability to try to take the U.S., but keep pushing him, and he might just get scared enough to believe we have launched a nuclear device aimed at him, and for him to retaliate with nuclear devices of his own.

You know what is a far bigger threat to this nation than either of them?

The millions upon millions of military aged men allowed into this nation, at the behest of Joseph Robinette Biden.

Now do you want to continue this debate? When you expose your intentions to take down Russia, do you expect them to sit idlily by and just let it happen?

The theft of the 2020 election to install usurper Biden has caused this problem. Your refusal to accept this is because it would destroy your preconceived ideas about the world.

Don't tell me I am lacking information regarding the world view, when it's you who is lacking the real view. It you had the real view, I wouldn't even be discussing this with you, which is nonsense. As this is all stemming from the election theft, & the bellicose demeanor in which we have dealt with Russia & Putin by this administration & the Obama administration as well.

The world was a much calmer world under Trump.

BTW, I have never heard of Putin's guidestars, nor do I see any reference to it on the internet, as you cvan see by this search results page:

It seems to be a megadose of hypocrisy to me. We tell all sovereign nations on two continents that they are forbidden to allow any European nation to have a military base on their sovereign territory. Then we want to claim that Russia is unreasonable for forbidding Ukraine to bring a NATO base to its border.

Projecting our power over 5,000 miles, crossing an ocean, would face difficulties. The supply line would not go unchallenged. Missile and drone attacks would take a toll. That sort of distance complicates supporting a sufficiently large army, and such an army would require a draft. Napolean and Hitler discovered difficulties fighting a ground war against a nation with eleven time zones and twice the area of the United States.

Brain glitch: Ivan Ilyin. I'm not as illiterate as you wish I were. I actually read some Tolstoy in high school - 60+ years ago. In translation, of course.

I don't hate, I fear Russia. Hate seems to be your metier.

Taking over Russia would be absurd. Whatever gives you that idea? The SVR maybe? I would like Russia's elites to start acting like civilized people, competing with skills, intelligence and innovation, rather than guns and missiles and tanks. Given Moscow's history however, this seems rather hopeless, so I expect that containment is the best we can hope for. So Si vis pacem, para bellum

Now, if you want to continue this debate, stop inventing falsehoods about my "intentions". I just makes you look desperate.

Guidestars is my word. Judging by the books I've been reading about them, (and him) they have significant influence on his long-range thinking.

"millions upon millions of military aged men" -- Are you dreaming of Schlichters "the Attack" maybe? They certainly are a problem. They are overloading the welfare system, driving real Americans out of jobs, possibly voting illegally, exacerbating urban street crime, draining capital by sending remittances abroad, bringing us diseases we had all but eradicated, and some of them are drug gangsters, but I don't expect them to form military cadres to mount an insurrection. Maybe you're hoping they will?

Apparently you do not understand the difference between “NATO encroachment” and countries formerly conquered or occupied by Russia fleeing to NATO with great enthusiasm—Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Checks and Slovaks, Hungary, East Germany, and many others (which I can’t necessarily spell correctly ;-) ).

This enthusiasm was displayed to the world with the rapid reduction of the great wall between East and West Germany to a pile of rubble, and souvenir fragments. I vividly remember people’s response with this great celebration. Perhaps you are too young to remember that great day, or maybe you were living in a country that would not allow you to see such a positive embrace of Western Europe.

I noticed with interest the story today of the attempted assassination of the the Russia-favoring Slovak leader. I do not know the status of this man’s life now (dead or alive), but it certainly indicates that however he gained power, others are not at all enthusiastic about him. Did he suggest Slovakia should leave NATO??

I decided to try to find an article not strongly linked with either Europe or Russia. The Al Jazeera link below seems to give a fairly even handed portrayal of the situation in Slovakia over the past few decades. Be sure to go past the frequent advertising as this is a long interesting article that will not make everyone here happy, whether they are pro Ukraine or pro Putin.

At age 71, William Kristol is unlikely to be putting on ANY uniform, much less being accepted by ANY army.

NEWS FLASH—Iran President raisi is confirmed dead. Apparently he was killed in a helicopter crash during bad weather. Also Iran’s Prime Miniser also died.

Actually I had planned to start with comments about the role of the US south in our Revolutionary War. As a northern resident, I had been taught little about the important role of our southern states in our fight for independence. However, if you mention names like Francis Marion, Cowpens, or Kings Mountain in the eastern southern states, you may find some interesting responses. Even without French support at Yorktown, the southerners would surely have continued their fight for independence.

Back to the early news, there is now discussion about the implications for Iran’s future having lost the one person elected who had some peaceful recognition from both sides of the Iranian political spectrum. Adios

Nato eastward expansion is by definition encroachment.
Please don’t play leftist word games.
It’s just like saying “you don’t understand the difference between sex and gender” and just as moronic
