The Russians simply walked in, Ukrainian troops in Kharkiv tell BBC

Denys Yaroslavskyi is angry.

...

“There was no first line of defence. We saw it. The Russians just walked in. They just walked in, without any mined fields” he says.

He shows me video from a drone feed taken a few days ago of small columns of Russian troops simply walking across the border, unopposed.

He says officials had claimed that defences were being built at huge cost, but in his view, those defences simply weren’t there. “Either it was an act of negligence, or corruption. It wasn’t a failure. It was a betrayal”.

Everyone knew that this incursion was likely to happen. Both Ukrainian and Western intelligence knew Russia had been building forces across the border – with estimates of it massing up to 30,000 troops.

Trump will simply tell Ukraine to suspend hostilities immediately or continue to fight without US support.

Putin is winning the war. So there's no reason for him to stop in Ukraine.

So Trump will call Putin and tell him if he does not stop, he'll escalate the war in Ukraine by giving more arms to Ukraine. That means we will give them better stuff. More drones, tanks, missiles, etc.

If Putin agrees to a ceasefire, then Trump will pressure Zelensky to sign it because we cannot continue to support Ukraine indefinitely.

I’m seeing more videos of women soldiers on the Ukrainian front line. I don’t think that is something they want but it’s something they need. I also see a lot of videos of the SBU chasing men down on the streets to force them into military service. It definitely looks like this battle of attrition is not sustainable for Ukraine. The average Ukrainian soldier fights on the front line until he is killed or wounded. There is no relief for those men. That’s a hard to sell to even the most patriotic supporters of the war.

Which would make absolutely NO difference because Ukraine's problem IS LACK OF MANPOWER, especially experienced manpower.

And, never mind, the entire west can't match Russia's manufacturing capacity.

You Zeeper's are very, very slow learners.

And, Trump will force Ukraine to accept the loss of territory, every inch Russia presently has taken, or he'll tell Zelensky that Ukraine will not be receiving anymore US aid.

Trump is going to serve up Ukraine to Russia. The Democrats are going to pay a price for Impeachments using Ukraine. I agree with Trump to remove Ukraine from the Chessboard and at the same time financially disrupt the DNC financial wizzards. The DNC donar class may lose 1.5T in investment in Ukraine - Trump is winning domestically by Ukraine getting what they deserve for election interferance.

Ha ha ha!

Are you unaware how deep into this war NATO already is? Waist deep? Chest deep?

NATO can throw more at it if they want. Send in the French Foreign Legion, LOL!

Russia is de-militarizing NATO.

You can tell how things are going in Ukraine by noting which commenters here have disappeared.

Very astute. I'd like to make a list to reinforce your point. You can bet most will be back when another round of $$$$ MONEY is discussed. I suspect most are MIC dependent.

More libertarian strategic political thinking?

The Maidan coup replaced corrupt Russian oligarchs with corrupt (and globalist and neo-marxist) American ones. Ukraine has been a political and money-laundering black-box for Democrats ever since. Every major political "scandal" of the last 10 years has had roots in Ukraine - Russia-gate, impeachment, Hunter Biden, DNC server, etc. etc.

To save the US Republic, this cancer of Ukraine must be removed.

Yes, it’s nice, isn’t it? A break from the perpetual onslaught of propaganda. A breath of fresh air. I hope it can last.

Apparently there is no equivalent to General Armageddon ( Surovikin) in the Uke military….the strategist that pulled Russian troops out of Kherson to much scorn by the West, but then built a series of “ Surovikin defense lines” that chewed up the vaunted but failed great Ukrainian counteroffensive of 2023.

General Armageddon is back, recently, after a period of exile to Africa after the Wagner coup fiasco….and after Putin’s inauguration.

***************************

The problem will take of itself.

Americans didn’t care about Ukraine’s position as a USSR ally during the cold war, and they have no reason to consider Ukraine an ‘essential’ foreign policy interest as we begin to move towards a realistic conclusion to the Ukraine-Russia War.
