Lesbian and bisexual women are dying much younger than their straight peers, according to a new study.
During the survey, recently published in JAMA, Harvard researchers pulled from a previous study of women who worked as nurses and were born between 1945 and 1964, 90,833 of whom had disclosed their sexuality. Of those, 89,821 (98.9 percent) identified as heterosexual, 694 (0.8 percent) identified as lesbian, and 318 (0.4 percent) identified as bisexual.
When compared with heterosexual participants, LGB participants showed earlier mortality. Bisexual women had the shortest life expectancy, dying 37 percent sooner than heterosexual women. Lesbian women died 20 percent sooner, with LGB women overall dying 26 percent sooner than straight women.

Believe me, they'll make us pay for this offense.
Bingo!
You can’t say that all lesbians are ugly. There’s some mighty fine “lipstick lesbians” out there. I know because I occasionally hung out with a few when I was young. I was friends with the coven queen who took a liking to me because she said I was “different” than other guys. I went to a party of hers once where I was the only guy there and every woman there was super fine. I’m talking way beyond movie start good looks. They would talk about how stupid men were and how men would fall at their feet and kiss their ass just because of their looks. Oddly enough one exceptionally pretty girl there took a liking to me but then the coven queen (who was supposed to be my friend) attempted to put the kibosh on that. But I would have to say these particular girls were the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. It’s like lesbos are either super ugly or super fine with very few in between.
A bit of information is missing from the article.
There were 116,149 in the overall study of which 25,316 did not provide their sexual orientation when asked in 1995 (see below). I suspect they did not report because they were still in the closet about such. It would be interesting to see the #s of responses and none responses in 5 year cohorts. Were the younger woman more likely to report their orientation.
I also think the found sample size to be be two small to use as a comparison.
Results Among 116,149 eligible participants, 90,833 (78%) had valid sexual orientation data. Of these 90,833 participants, 89,821 (98.9%) identified as heterosexual, 694 (0.8%) identified as lesbian, and 318 (0.4%) identified as bisexual. Of the 4227 deaths reported, the majority were among heterosexual participants (n = 4146; cumulative mortality of 4.6%), followed by lesbian participants (n = 49; cumulative mortality of 7.0%) and bisexual participants (n = 32; cumulative mortality of 10.1%).
Sexual orientation was missing for 25,316 participants (22.0% of eligible sample). Thirteen percent of participants (n = 15,092) were missing data on sexual orientation due to item nonresponse (n = 14,478) or because they selected “none of these” or “prefer not to answer” (n = 614). Other participants did not return a 1995 questionnaire (n = 10,224; 9%). The results are presented using complete case analyses (n = 90,833).

So I rate this study as a bit bogus.
Taken at face value, that would mean their deaths average in the 60s while on the whole women's life expectancy is in the 80s. Without significant evidence I find that hard to believe. More likely is that women in their eighties are less likely to publicly identify as lesbian, thus skewing the data for lesbian deaths younger even without any pathologies causing lesbians to die younger.
I happen to have a lesbian niece...very beautiful, trim and fit....she never played sports and was a very feminine young woman...
I agree....there is a deep sadness....its not easy being different or feeling different....
Lettuce is nature's scaffolding for ranch dressing, cheese and bacon bits.
*I don’t doubt it, but celibate nuns have historicallly been the longes lived identifiable group in the US.*
I don’t believe you. Long lives-sure but celibate? Impossible. Heh heh.
*Something is obviously a little off with your noggin to begin with ..if you are attracted to the same sex.*
Yes butt... It’s something to ‘watch’. Don’t lie.
*She “married” her partner, but it fell apart after two or three years. She’s been having trouble putting her life back together ever since.*
Sounds like too many heteros.
Did their “lady parts” wear out faster?
They could never say suicide.
It is often a way to lie with statistics.
You expect straight numbers in a study of LGBTQ populations?
One reason they live shorter lives is that domestic violence is much, MUCH higher in lesbian live-in relationships than normal ones. You don’t want to get hit with a chain billfold.
Faster than the sex toys they MUST use.
This gap is due to existing “extensive health disparities,” including “worse physical, mental, and behavioral health” among queer women in comparison to straight women. The report also noted that the disparity is heavily influenced by the social stigma that LGBTQ+ people face.
they are victims.............
Subarus have faulty airbags.
LOL! That, and maybe their Rottweilers attack them too often.
Always the victims.
Even when they are murdering children in a school shooting spree.
Helped rebuild a hoarder house after a lesbian decided to immolate herself in the kitchen. Nothing quite like the smell of human fat and flesh.
