Legal analysts are accusing Judge Aileen Cannon of pro-Donald Trump bias after indefinitely suspending his classified documents case.
Cannon, a Trump appointee, indefinitely postponed the trial on Tuesday, citing legal disputes around classified evidence. Cannon said there were eight outstanding substantive pending motions for her to rule on and predicted this will take until at least late July.
It is unknown whether the case will begin before the November 2024 presidential election. If elected, Trump has a number of options to kill the trial, including pardoning himself or appointing a favorable attorney general to drop the charges.
Cannon is overseeing the case in which the former president is accused of illegally retaining classified documents, hoarding them at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and obstructing attempts by federal officials to retrieve them.
Trump, the presumptive Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential election, has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. He has denied any wrongdoing in the case and has said the documents he retained were personal.

The widespread incompetence of the Biden administration should not cause you to underestimate government worker intelligence in general.
It is government managing ability that is in somewhat short supply and that is mainly because of the lack of cost control pressure and the difficult of firing civil servants.
I attended sessions of the Connecticut legislature yesterday while visiting the state capitol. All the legislators that I heard spoke well.
One of the big problems going on now is that facts and more importantly truth are treated as irrelevant and admitting that your opponent might have a point or might be right is almost impossible to fathom.

BS she did not suspend the case. She postponed trial until after a long backlog of legal motions and discovery issues are resolved.
According to RATS, it’s not the evidence that counts, it’s the seriousness of the charge. Of course that only applies when the person being accused is a Republican. Only RATS would push to continue a trial where the chief RAT prosecutor has said that the evidence he is in possession of, has been tampered with by the FBI.

I guess it’s a real bitch to get back to treatment you give out to other people. I think it’s kind of funny watching her take a knee on every play… Running out the clock. That’s what she’s doing and they know it. If she simply dismisses the case, then Smith would rush to some court in DC or to some higher court. As it is, the case is going forward… But inching slowly.
Biden is appointing leftist stooges as fed judges as fast as he can. And is the % of leftist law school grads increasing? People like Cannon could become very rare. Meanwhile, Thomas and Alito are getting older.
