An organization in Denver is working to get migrants off the streets and into homes of host families across Colorado, and a new partnership is making that task easier than ever before.
Hope Has No Borders began pairing migrant workers and their families with hosts in Colorado in late 2023. Now, with help from the United Way, getting paired up is a simple phone call away by dialing 211.
Erin Lennon is one of the many hosts the organization has paired with migrants. She didn’t realize the scope of Denver’s migrant crisis until talking with a friend late last year.
“Wow this is not just a little problem, this is a big problem,” she remembers thinking.
A single mom with a spare bedroom in the house, she felt a call to help.

Once the family has moved in.. What are the rights of the property owner?
If things go sideways, can they ask them to leave, and they have to go?
Do you have to go through an eviction/ court/ legal process that can take months or years?
If for whatever reason, if Gov funding stops or gets cut back, what then?
They WON’T ask : are you a convicted child molester?

I have seven low-end rentals. You’d be insane to take someone into your home. Based on some of the things that have happened to me, as a landlord, I’d say the risks FAR outweigh any benefits.
Even if someone is a “good person” and a considerate house mate, you’d still probably have issues. But these people have already committed a criminal act by ignoring US law and storming the border. That’s your starting point with your new roommate. Now add in smoking, drugs, alcohol, abuse, or just the fact you’re from different cultures. Cultural diversity sucks. You want a reality check, just take in some third-worlder. The level of cleanliness is probably not up to your standards. Their attitude WILL be different, likely from anyone you know.
On the other hand, nothing converts bleeding heart liberals like exposure to the things they think are so wonderful.
Yep, I give it about 12 hours before they stop, because of all the bogus calls they’ll get.
Doubtful - all families need to check tenant law before getting involved in this treasonous crap.
See the hotels in NY where they defecate and urinate in the hallways because they don’t know or even care to use a bathroom.
Needles, garbage, hookers, violence, crime, drug paraphernalia - add in their attitudes about Western culture and Christians - break out the popcorn!

Be thankful you’re in FL .... I imagine it won’t be long before BLUE states determine rentals, and, even large homes WILL take in these INVADERS.

The key word is single. There’s a reason for it. Taking in a stranger might explain it. If she’s just looking to get laid I wouldn’t put it past her but is it fair to the kid? In this world you don’t take chances like that.
You should have seen the horrible places I had to sleep after being burned out.. no government was trying to find 3500 senior CITIZENS a place to sleep. NO ONE.
Soon I may be doing that again by the time the Biden regime takes what little I have left. They attached my social security checks last month to pay back the interest on my wildfire catastrophe funds they decided was only a loan after 4 friggin years. I sent them a check for the $25,000 I was sent, but they want $9,000 in interest too!
Someone has to pay to house illegals. It’s taking every ounce of strength I have to not let this kill me.
