The ‘net was around quite a while before I ever had access to it for entertainment. LOL
I watched little TV after I left home because I was too busy working in order to pay rent and to eat. Minimum wage doesn’t go very far so two jobs were in order a lot of the time. Checking out channels that air some of the old TV shows, I didn’t miss out on much.
It was for me, too. I tried to use hubby’s PC, but it terrified me. I was soooo afraid of erasing something important. I totally didn’t understand it. Then, when I went to work at my last job, we used little Dell laptops. I got hooked with those, then got my friend who has gotten nearly every laptop for me because he gets them cheap, restores them safely, and then sells them cheap, to get my first one. A Dell like the ones at work. The rest is history. I think I’ve been through way over a dozen laptops in the past 20+ years. Long answer to a short statement. LOL!
I never touched a computer until after Hubby and I got together. We started out with a WebTV - LOL - then got a PC. The hard drive went kaput in 2010 and I got the Dell I’m using now. It’s been a real trooper.
It sure has. Hubby’s PC has lasted a long time, too. I just like the mobility of a laptop. And I am more comfortable using one. Every person has different levels of comfort. LOL!
Thank you kindly. 😀
9 out of 10.
But to be honest, we have several tests per year that include some of these same shows as the right answer.
No. I’m being careful not to spill the beans.
They do seem to have similar themes. LOL! But good quizzes are hard to come by. :) You did great!
Hi Everybody!
10/10
(((HUGS)))
A friend let me play around with her laptop several years ago to see how I’d like it, and I didn’t.
Like you said, different levels of comfort, and laptops are outside of mine. :-)
10 of 10!
(buta bit of elimination luck on two questions, never saw them as a kid.)
and as for you luvie, i’ll add Gilligan’s Island.
They are wonderful for going from room to room...out to the patio, where I should be tonight...and on trips. But, hubby doesn’t like them either. The keyboards are too small for his large fingers.
Has the weather gotten bad there yet? I keep seeing posts that say it will, but am hoping it won’t!
Awesome perfect score!
Bible in a Year :
Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.”
Joy was concerned for her relative Sandy, who for years had struggled with alcoholism and mental-health issues. When she went to Sandy’s apartment, the doors were locked, and it appeared vacant. As she and others planned their search for Sandy, Joy prayed, “God, help me to see what I’m not seeing.” As they were leaving, Joy looked back at Sandy’s apartment and saw the tiniest movement of a curtain. In that moment, she knew that Sandy was alive. Although it took emergency assistance to reach her, Joy rejoiced in this answered prayer.
The prophet Elisha knew the power of asking God to reveal to him His reality. When the Syrian army surrounded their city, Elisha’s servant shivered in fear. Not the man of God, however, for with God’s help he glimpsed the unseen. Elisha prayed that the servant too would see, and “the Lord opened the servant’s eyes” to see “the hills full of horses and chariots of fire” (2 Kings 6:17).
God lifted the veil between the spiritual and physical worlds for Elisha and his servant. Joy believes God helped her see the tiny flicker of the curtain, giving her hope. We too can ask Him to give us the spiritual vision to understand what’s happening around us, whether with our loved ones or in our communities. And we too can be agents of His love, truth, and compassion. .
Reflect & Pray
What gifts has God given you to serve others? If you’re not sure what your gifts are, who might help you get a better sense of those God-given gifts?
Father, thank You for the gifts You’ve given me. Please help me to embrace the ways You’ve equipped me to love and serve others in Your kingdom.
Find out how you can understand yourself and others.
I don’t need to take it room to room with me. It’s good to walk away from it for a while. It’s here when I decide to come back.
I thought I was going to have a rain-free day today. There were a few little rain showers scattered around to the north and the west this afternoon but nothing close by. Then a cluster of storms blew up in north AL and came here. This was the only county in the state that had a severe storm warning all day, though it wasn’t all that severe at the farm. It rained real hard but there wasn’t much wind or lightning.
Might get a little something tomorrow and tomorrow night into Thursday morning is when it could get really dicey. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the radar all day and especially tomorrow night. Based on what they’ve said tonight, I’ll be under the gun this time tomorrow night and on into the wee hours.
10 out of 10.
Good evening, Rus! Good to see you tonight. Thanks for our beautiful lesson from God’s Word! (((hugs)))
Bravo! Perfect score!
Well, I do hope the dicey stuff misses you! There have been so many destructive storms this spring. Seems never-ending! And us sitting here with only 3 inches of rain or less. *sigh*
:) God bless y’all in the Canteen!
