Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York claimed that Democrats were “governing as a majority” in the House of Representatives even with nominal Republican control during an interview that aired Sunday.
Jeffries noted that Democrats provided over twice as many votes than Republicans in passing HR 8035, the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act in April during the interview with Norah O’Donnell of CBS News that aired on “60 Minutes.” Jeffries boasted of Democratic successes in the GOP-controlled House during the interview, saying that Dems “get things done.”

Democrats get things done, he brags.
Hard to believe creeper Johnson still has a following.
Republicans never stop their war against conservatives, so Jeffries has a point.
not bragging since it true. Reps are gutless.
No Democrats are Assistant Republicans.
Most “Republicans” are Assistant Democrats.
Way to go RINOs, way to go.
When someone is right no need to argue. It is especially evident when the witch Pelousy is usually on TV arguing positions.
He’s NOT wrong.
WAY too many assistant ‘Rat GOPeers in Congress.
He’s kind of right. A few days ago Gaetz and 5 others crossed over and voted with Jeffries and Dems to send a mining bill back to a House committee, meaning it can’t be voted on.
The bill would have given mining companies access to more public land. It was opposed by Biden, the EPA and every single Dem in the House, along with the ‘patriotic’ 6 Republicans that helped kill it. Maybe Gaetz can get a group pic with Pelosi, Jeffries, Swalwell and the rest of his Dem buddies.
Nothing new about that. Historically, when Republicans have had the majority, they turn over control to the other side. When they’ve had a slim majority, they’ve agreed to share power with the other side. That’s exactly what’s going on now, only this time they didn’t announce it publicly.
Rush used to say the GOP was uncomfortable and shy about wielding power in office and they prefer the usual method of being offstage critics of the powerful ruling Democrats. No responsibility for critics as for leaders.
And most importantly, he said the Dems always act confidently and promote their agenda even while not actually in power.
This has been shown as true in the 1980s-2024.
Blackmail is a hell of a tactic, especially when a lot of GOP’rs allow it to happen?
“..and then, he just gave up, virtually, without even the pretense of a struggle. It was like removing a pound cake from the oven, and watching the cake rapidly fall as hot air escapes. Mitch has vetted and mentored him very well!”..//
They’re antagonizing the base so they can rile up the conservatives and boot STUPID PIUS Johnson out so that Jeffries can take majority status! Just Like taking candy out of the mouth of babies! I agree with everybody Johnson needs to go, but let’s wait until after November to give him the boot and for once Trump needs to use his head instead of his heart. This POS needs to be booted out he backstabbed at the base.
Trump needs to pull the plug on this clown, and face these guys down.
If the Dems can strike Trump off the ballot with a one seat majority, they are going to get there anyway. Since there are always things that members are absent, sick, die, resign etc.
It’s bad when Hakeem Jeffries is the guy telling it like it is, while Trump is still trying to prop up cringe losers like Johnson
He’s not wrong. What he says goes until the election
Good job Johnson and the GOPe that just HAD to have money for Ukraine and warrantless spying.
But the dems don’t get to hold the committee chairmanships, so R’s can keep investigating the Deep State. Once Trump is elected they can make the criminal referrals to a DOJ run by an AG who will actually execute justice. An interim AG if the Senate won’t confirm anybody who truly seeks justice.
No matter how Hakeem brags, we have to keep our eyes on the prize. When the Deep State is rotting in jail DC will be a very different place, Hakeem. That’s not a threat, it’s a promise.
The internal divisions in the GOP in the House are the biggest advantage the Dims have. Internally undermining the GOP Speaker works great, for the Dims.
