Special counsel Jack Smith’s team on May 3 acknowledged they misled U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon regarding the handling of evidence in one of the criminal cases against former President Donald Trump.
Prosecutors in a court filing said that in some of the boxes FBI agents seized from President Trump’s Florida resort, the order of papers has been changed from shortly after the seizure.
Prosecutors compared scans of the boxes done in 2022 under orders from Judge Cannon to the present state of the boxes and noticed that the order is not the same.

It’s called lack of candor before the tribunal.
Oh I agree, Andy.
....If Trump managed to get photos or cataloguing done before the raid, a ‘before and after’ analysis might nail that pr*ck....

I cant believe that PDJT would dump broken bankers boxes in a gold plated bathroom. He is a businessman. He knows how to keep records. I suspect Trump’s attorneys have a “confidence or a truth” b.o.m..b up their sleves.
heads up
Misled??? Trump got his home invaded by armed SWAT teams for supposedly misleading the Feds.
Precisely what I meant. He'd got to have learned his lesson re the FBI after RussiaGate.
Throw him in prison for 435 years.
I think Judge Cannon is just letting Smith hang himself. Eventually she will likely have enough to dismiss with prejudice.
This guy s just obfuscating the fact that they he no real crime here.
The case can be dropped due to a technicality and the left can still believe President Trump was guilty.
Isn’t there a judicial philosophy that if someone lies one time then you can assume that anything they say is a lie? How can any court/judge put any confidence in anything that Jack says.
I don't believe there is such a thing as "Judicial Philosophy" anymore.
That would require Honorable Judges and Lawyers, and I don't believe there are many in the US Just Us System.
I believe that the US Lawfare System responds to the best and largest use of Force within it.
Apply Force until you get the decision you want.
I agree. She wants it all out there for all to see and let Smith keep publicly expose his dirty deeds. She’s been clever about it IMO.
In the mean time, she can throw out all of the evidence to date and keep the case going. Maybe Hatchet Jack will ask for the case to be dismissed.
Emily: "Why would a judge care about not having a big, dumb bird in court?"
Jane: Good grief, it's lack of candor, not lack of condor. You can't sit here and say something as stupid as that...
Emily: "Oops, I'm sorry, never mind."
Jane: OK, just don't let it happen again.
Emily: "OK, ... ... ...bitch."
Jack Smilth is a fine representation of the corrupt dishonest Obama/Biden Administration.
Come on Man, it’s too damned important to convict Trump to worry about a few Lies and Omissions to the court, We can even fabricate evidence out of thin air if we want, We have Immunity remember?...
They were just following orders from the deep state to shred the evidence Trump had against them. Oops. Clumsy us. We got the files in disarray. It would be great if Trump anticipated this, and stored important scanned files on a zip stick or two, secreted in a safe space. Who knows.
falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus
About time to throw Smith to the wolves, I’d say.
