KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – The Ukrainian village of Ocheretyne has been battered by fighting, drone footage obtained by The Associated Press shows. The village has been a target for Russian forces in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.

Russian troops have been advancing in the area, pounding Kyiv’s depleted, ammunition-deprived forces with artillery, drones and bombs. Ukraine’s military has acknowledged the Russians have gained a “foothold” in Ocheretyne, which had a population of about 3,000 before the war, but says that fighting continues.

Neo- Nazis in Ukraine is not isolated, it is prevalent in their government and military….deeply entrenched….Bandera statues and street names everywhere ( mostly the non ethnic Russian provinces), he is considered a hero.

I suggest you do some research about their hero Bandera.

They did not heed US’s warnings back in 2018 about their Nazi problem, so Vlad must now deal with it…as we are witnessing. He will succeed.

I find it very interesting that in the two photos shown I didn’t see a single crater. Nor where any of the trees blasted apart. The Russians must have very accurate artillery to march down a row of buildings like that without a single miss.

Why are there no AP reporters embedded with Ukraine military units as was done in Iraq?

Because Russians target journalists, even away from the front lines, and because in a war where the sides are closely matched in fighting ability it is too dangerous for most journalists to go with troops.

But there are plenty of reports from journalists at or near the front lines, and a nearly unlimited supply of video direct from drones or soldiers with cameras on the front lines. This is the most documented war in history.

Between satellite images, drone video, and first person video from GoPro cameras on soldiers' helmets you can see whatever level of detail you want.

Thanks for sharing Putin's talking points.

Any idea why Putin ordered his troops to destroy a village that was the home of the same "Russian speaking" people you have claimed he was trying to protect?

No, Putin and the Russians specialize in destruction.

“No, Putin and the Russians specialize in destruction.”

Last I checked, Kiev basically looks untouched. Of course that may change when it’s time to liberate the city, but that outcome is up to Zelensky.

Ukraine doesn't have a battalion that waves Nazi flags. At most they had some misguided young men who used symbolism similar to the Nazis. Kind of like the US soldiers who posed in front of a Nazi SS flag since they were scout snipers and though the two letters looked cool.

Russia, and probably even the USA has many more actual Nazi fans than Ukraine.

I wonder if the plan is to have the Russians enter Kiev before the election, so they can blame it on MAGA.

Only because the missile defense systems provided by the USA and Europe are better than the Russian missiles Putin has his military launch at Kiev and other Ukrainian cities.

You do know that Russia has lost so many tanks that they are now relying on 1960's vintage tanks they dragged out of storage, don't you?

A lot of buildings get destroyed by loitering munitions and drones that fly into the building before exploding. That’s why you don’t see as many craters.

If you actually believe that nonsense you are dumber than the typical Russian propaganda poster.

And in case you didn't know, Bandera spent most of WW2 in a German concentration camp.

He was a leader of Ukrainian efforts to keep both Russia and Germany from conquering Ukraine. That's why the Russians murdered him after the war.

“Only because the missile defense systems provided by the USA and Europe are better than the Russian missiles Putin has his military launch...”

So our missile defense system only works in Kiev? Sounds like a piece of Shiite to me.

“I wonder if the plan is to have the Russians enter Kiev before the election, so they can blame it on MAGA.”

I still think that some SANE PERSON in Ukraine will eventually decide to work with Russia and put an end to this war, and that likely will help Biden.

Let me educate you. Any research on Bandera results in his deep involvement with the Holocaust and SS.

In short: “ It is a sad comment on Ukrainian memory that the man declared a Hero of Ukraine in January headed a movement that was deeply involved in the Holocaust. It is more gratifying to know that by the time of Stepan Bandera’s death, most Ukrainian leaders had long rejected him as a dangerous charlatan who harmed his own cause. By the time of his death, Bandera was reduced to dancing with the Cold War’s most compromised intelligence agency, where the Soviets could watch his every move. Those who label him a hero today, in other words, are as foolish as they are offensive.”

Any research on Bandera results in his deep involvement with the Holocaust and SS.

It does no such thing. Bandera spent most of the war under arrest by the Nazis, including being sent to a concentration camp. He had little control over the movement that he headed before the war. Near the end of the war the SS tried to recruit him for the Russian Liberation Army but he refused.

The character assassination of Bandera is a typical tactic of the Left. Started by the Soviets who demonized all Ukrainian nationalists as Nazis, it is continued today by Putin and his supporters. They then go one step forward and call all Ukrainians who praise him as Nazis, as if the conclusion was self-evident. Putin's charges of Nazism are as relevant as the Left's charges of racism in the US. They both get away with it because everyone is afraid to oppose the charges lest they too be called Nazis or racists.

In the meantime all those who point to Ukraine and cry Nazi ignore Putin's admiration for Stalin and the fact that it is he, not the Ukrainians, who are trying to subjugate another people.

You do know that all tanks are obsolete on the modern battlefield, don’t you? A $500 drone kills a T-90, Abrams or a T-34 just as easily. The most effective tank in Ukraine is a turtle tank. Any of the above with $100 worth of scrap angle iron and sheet metal welded on is the best NATO or Russia can field.
