PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - Over a dozen patrol cars were damaged or destroyed in a suspect arson attack at the Portland Police Bureau’s training facility early Thursday morning.
Just before 2 a.m., Portland Fire & Rescue and Portland police officers responded to a fire at the training facility in the 14900 block of Northeast Airport Way. When crews arrived to the scene, police say they found at least 15 vehicles in a fenced training area were burning.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported.
I understand people in our community are hurting, but in no way is property destruction a productive way to address that angst. I want the community to know these criminal actions will be fully investigated.
— Chief Bob Day (@ChiefBobDay) May 2, 2024 The Portland Fire Investigations Unit will be leading the investigation into the suspect arson fires.

Funny how this type of criminal activity and protests seem to now happen every election year.....just a coincidence I’m sure.
Suspected?
Real bunch of sherlocks there...................
If only the cars were out on patrol
Being the lib city that it is there’s a possibility the cars were EVs......if that’s the case they probably set themselves on fire. 😂
Actually more likely part of the left wing, week of rage that’s going on worldwide.
Chief Bob: “I understand people in our community are hurting”
how about: “We will track down and prosecute to the fullest extend of the law those who did this, and if convicted, we’ll seek the maximum penalty”
I got a laugh out of that too. A fiery, but mostly peaceful protest from someone.
Does the Mayor have an alabi?
The cars weren’t “damaged,” they were destroyed. This probably amounts to more than a half-million dollars in replacement costs. This was a major crime and is 98% likely to have been caused by left-wing terrorists. But the MSM have a soft spot for them despite the fact that we see these acts of violence over and over.

“Last night’s events downtown were really just a tragedy. It saddens me to see the unwillingness for people to exercise their First Amendment rights in a way that gets their message out but also protects the rights of others,” Chief Day said.
Governor Tina Kotek released a statement condemning the acts of vandalism at Portland State University and at the Portland police training facility early Thursday morning.
”I fully condemn the criminal actions taken Thursday morning that resulted in the burning of 15 Portland Police Bureau cars, endangering first responders and the surrounding community. I have absolutely no tolerance for discriminatory harassment, violence, or property damage. This includes the acts of vandalism seen this week at the Portland State University library and against nearby businesses. These actions are in direct opposition to Oregon values and threaten working people, families, businesses, and our community as a whole. The Oregon State Police have launched a response on the outer perimeter of Portland State University. The state is prepared to exercise the full extent of the law.”
What are the chances that no one will ever be charged with so much as a misdemeanor for this arson?
