Terry Clark Hughes Jr. is the 39-year-old suspect who opened fire at the scene where four law enforcement officers in Charlotte, North Carolina, were shot and killed on April 29, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
Hughes was not the only shooter, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings said in a news conference. “When they approached Hughes,” officers “were met by gunfire and returned the gunfire, striking” Hughes, who was found deceased in a yard, Jennings said.
Officers then received “additional gunfire from inside of the residence,” he said. It was not immediately clear whose bullets struck which officers. Police have not identified the other shooter, although two other people are in custody. Police confirmed they believe two people opened fire; Hughes opened fire first, Jennings said.
“On Monday, April 29, 2024, an armed suspect opened fire on law enforcement officers in the 5000 block of Galway Drive in the North Tryon Division,” police wrote in an April 29 news release.
“The deceased suspect has been identified as Terry Clark Hughes, Jr, 39,” police wrote. WSOC-TV reporter Joe Bruno confirmed that the above mugshot is Hughes Jr.
“Four Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers were shot, one of which succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, four officers from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force were shot, three of which succumbed to their injuries,” CMPD wrote.
Three of the deceased officers have been named; they are North Carolina Department of Adult Correction veterans, Sam Poloche and Alden Elliott and CMPD Officer Joshua Eyer.

Snipers couldn’t get a shot eh? Too bad.
“If we’re lucky, he will pull an Epstein manouver while in custody.”
He died in the gunfight
Oops he is Black, that will kill the story quick..
Kind of has a Middle Eastern look in his face.
This is one of the biggest things of that nature since the Miami FBI shoot out in 86. Tragic. God bless the families of those cops and Marshal. The Marshal service is one of the few remaining good guys in the federal government.
“The Marshal service is one of the few remaining good guys in the federal government.”
No they’re not. They still work for the “big guy” and do his bidding.
WTF? When will Barry’s offspring get their shi together?
When you live within 10 miles of a state border with fleeing felons in both directions the Fed Marshals are definitely on the “good guy” team.
Nordic Amish.

More violent negroes. And a lot more to come, especially this summer. Prepare to return fire.
Lock and load.

A new hero for the Left.
The average line Border Patrol Agent and the Average Marshal is a good guy. FBI is trash, ATF, CIA and DEA are corrupt.
It’s not clear from the article that Hugh’s shots were the ones to take down the officers. Either way, he got what he deserved, but it sounds like the two surviving shooters may have caused most of the fatalities. Does NC have the death penalty? If so, I can’t think of two more deserving dirtbags.
The Marshals Service didn’t arrest even one protester who was at the justice’s house. Even though it was clearly a violation of raw.
I saw border agents living up razor wire so the illegals could come through, and seen them open up gates. I’ve seen them load illegals onto buses and buss them to airports.
I wonder if the US marshals will be the ones who arrest our president when the show trials are over?
I would have preferred if these were FBI agents instead of marshals
It’s them again! It’s got be their diet!
You can’t escape the wong arm of the raw....
