Video footage showed the dramatic moment a SWAT team rammed its way into a North Carolina house after three officers on a U.S. Marshals Task Force serving a warrant were killed.
The officers were serving a felon wanted for possessing a firearm Monday at the home, police said.
The officers were first shot at by the wanted suspect as they approached the suburban home in Charlotte. Three officers were killed and five more were hurt. The cops were able to shoot dead the felon in the front yard, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings said.
A second person then fired on officers from inside the home where a high-powered rifle was found, Jennings said.
A woman and a 17-year-old boy were found in the home after a three-hour standoff that included armored vehicles crashing into the suburban home in a tree-lined neighborhood and tearing off doorways and windows.
The two are being questioned, Jennings said.
'Today is an absolute tragic day for the city of Charlotte and for the profession of law enforcement,' Jennings said, according to WRAL. 'Today we lost some heroes that are out to just simply try to keep our community safe.'

JBTs tend to overeact quite a bit when one of their precious co-conspirators against the Constitution are harmed. We’re supposed to go along with this because he was a ‘felon in possession’. Given the absurd things that can make one a felon today, I’m not playing along. If you are not currently incarcerated, you should have 2nd amendment rights.

Can’t imagine how they got these 4 trained officers. Maybe the trap was to shoot after the primary target went down and was not a threat? Seems like the women or the 17 year old might were support.
I do find it funny when people dismiss my comparisons between law enforcement and military operations. Military operations are actually EASIER when it comes to kicking in doors because many times you're going in there to kill everything that moves. In law enforcement, your goal is to get the suspect out alive and relatively unharmed (unless they are using deadly force against you or someone else).
I once went to a Krav Maga class and the instructor was former IDF. When I told him I'm a cop he said, "I don't like training cops. In the military I teach how to kill, but cops can't learn those moves. Cops have to learn how to control but they cannot learn moves that can kill and I can't teach that way."
It opened my eyes a bit.
