I would not be at all surprised if Hamas did this to their own. False flag is the name of their game, whether hiding among civilians or killing them themselves.

She hasn't even demanded that the hostages be released.

Hamas claims and UN parrots mass graves. If they exist, Hamas killed other Arabs and blamed Jews.

If they are elderly, that puts the lie to the “IDF is committing genocide” narrative. The elderly do not breed. But if you are Hamas, and want to do a false flag to incriminate Israel, the elderly would be whom you’d slaughter, because they’re expected to die soon anyway. So you tell the next of kin they died of Covid, and the remains had to be cremated to prevent contagion. Done and done.

That would have been my guess. Hamas is not known to treat „traitors and collaborators“ - or whom they presume to be - with kid gloves. Murders of such people by Hamas or their sympathizers have often occurred in the past.

Thus, I think it has happened here again, on a much larger scale.

That Gaza is not down to its last few thousands puts the lie to the “the IDF is committing genocide” narrative. Even if Israel were being badly behaved no one with any sense thinks that they are committing genocide, and those that say so are either gullible imbeciles or deliberate liars.
