A recently retired schoolteacher is suing his Pennsylvania borough over a local ordinance after he was found guilty of putting a "for sale" sign on his legally parked car. "We put you in office as judges and state representatives to protect our rights," Will Cramer told Fox News Digital. "And when we see things like giving people tickets for putting a for-sale sign in their car – violating our First Amendment right – it's sad."

"We put you in office as judges and state representatives to protect our rights," Will Cramer told Fox News Digital. "And when we see things like giving people tickets for putting a for-sale sign in their car – violating our First Amendment right – it's sad."
He teamed up with the Institute for Justice, filing a lawsuit on April 9 seeking a permanent injunction prohibiting his borough of Nazareth from enforcing the ordinance "against a traditional, low-cost, and effective form of personal commercial speech."

MARIO ANDRETTI!
He pulled in to Nazareth, he was feeling about half past dead................
I wonder who gave the guy a ticket in the first place. A police officer or a code enforcement officer, for sure. Tough guy cracking down in crime.
This is another example of what’s driving a wedge between good citizens and their government. The little sign wasn’t doing anyone any harm. Put a warning notice on the truck, and let the owner investigate the ordinance.
I enjoy putting FOR SALE signs on other peoples cars.
“ I enjoy putting FOR SALE signs on other peoples cars.”
I once enjoyed putting a potatoe in one tail pipe of a pickup with dual exhaust. That truck would never start. Boy dont you know someone was pissed when they found a potatoe in their tailpipe
If his home was in an HOA, that might be a problem...
LOL, I never thought of doing that prank. Good one!
So, if a company pickup with it’s signage is legally parked, would it also get a ticket? The pickup is advertising the company’s services or product, you know trying to sell something!
There is something to be said for preventing people from using public streets as a showroom.

FReepmail me to be added to the list.
Great song!
Lol! Good one. My pop took an old giant TV that didn’t work anymore and stuck it out at the end of the driveway of a neighbor with a “free” sign on it. To this day the neighbor doesn’t onow who did it lol.
I enjoy putting FOR SALE signs on other peoples houses.................

Perhaps. But I still don’t see how that sign was a threat to public safety or public order. What’s next? No company names on the side of a work vehicle?
Anyway, you could be right. But I’m rather sure the truck guy had no idea about that ordinance. He had no idea that he was breaking the law. So give him a warning, at least at first. Don’t p!ss off a taxpayer if you don’t have to.

As a kid, a buddy and I swapped a bunch of “For Sale” sings in front of houses as a Halloween prank. The one we put in front of the high school showed up in the local newspaper ;-)
