CNN's legal analyst Elie Honig writing in a Cafe Brief newsletter that was reprinted in New York magazine on Friday presented both the pro and anti Trump ways of looking at the Alvin Bragg case that takes place on April 15 in Manhattan. It is obvious which of the two point of view that Honig thinks is most realistic in "Donald Trump’s Trial Is a Rorschach Test."

The accounting entry was accurate.
Cohen paid Stormy Daniels. Trump then owed Cohen money. The payment is accurately reflected on the books.
That Trump was reimbursing Cohen for something does not make the entry false.
There is no other false entry regarding the payment.
IMO-—COHEN is the one who was humping Daniels.
Just as the OJ jury let him walk despite the evidence to the contrary, the New York jury in this case will most likely find Trump guilty despite the fact that Trump did not commit a crime.
Cohen, Cohen...name seems familiar.
Let’s check the “Early Life” section of Wikipedia...
Why would Trump pay for an NDA to keep an affair between Cohen and Daniels quiet?
I’m hoping that the first question from PDJT’s legal team to Cohen is - “Mr. Cohen - are you a liar?”.
That would qualify as a “boom” moment.
Maybe Trump should have paid Stormy?
For "Services Not Rendered."
.
In a sane world Stormy Daniels would be the defendant in a blackmaily case. In NYC bizarro world the victim is the alleged criminal.
“...Sounds Absurd...”
What else is new....it’s New York!
The only sound response from Cohen is: “I have never lied under oath.”
If that is true.
He carefully invested his money in New York City taxi Medallions for 20 years.
The Medallions give the owner a special right to service specific locations in New York City, like the airports.
He was a millionaire by age 40.
Then, Uber showed up, and won some court cases.
His Medallions lost 90%-95% of their value.
After that, he became Trump's errand boy for rent money.
That or very similar will be asked. He'll be ready with some tale of woe about how he learned to lie during his tenure with Trump, who was and is the master ... he had a family to feed and he was frightened ... blah, blah blah.
A real life-long Republican it seems/sarc.
And that makes me wonder he’s on CNN.
He’s a liberal for sure, but he can be somewhat level headed at times. Odd.
When is dumbass Bragg going to cancel culture club his Confederate name? It “triggers” me and makes me feel “unsafe”. Makes me want to go home but I’m already home.
I feel sorrier for the people who lost their investment and didn’t turn to dishonorable activities for their rent money. Mr. Cohen was a lawyer, so it’s likely that he was making some sort of living aside from his investment.
Because Trump didn't?
Maybe Cohen paid it illegally out of retainer money that Trump gave him for legitimate legal services and Cohen embezzled that money to pay Stephanie Clifford without Trump knowing?
The only evidence that you showed me previously was a CBS News clip discussing a CNN story about a leaked audio by Michael Cohen discussing a payment to Playboy model Karen McDougal that took place several months before the Stephanie Clifford story broke.
I haven't seen any evidence that Trump was aware of payments to Clifford. Maybe Cohen thought he could sneak in a second payment after the McDougal leaked audio came out and then lump it into the growing story about McDougal?

He is a convicted perjurer...
