ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

Good morning this rainy Sunday! This morning someone asked me, "How do you like the lousy weather, Chaplain?" I thought a moment about the fact that my uniform was wet, my car had trouble starting, and about all those poor people stuck in the wall of traffic that inevitably occurs when 58 gets drenched. Then later I thought, how would we exist without the rain which makes all life on our planet possible? I remembered the old prayer in my prayer book, a blessing to God for the gift of wind and rain.

There is an old story, a beautiful story, about a boy who came home famished after long hours of play with his friends. His mother served him some sandwiches which satisfied his hunger and caused him to thank his mom. She said, "Don't thank me, son, I only prepared the food." So he went to the grocer to thank him for the bread. "Don't thank me, young man, I only sell the food." He walked over to the baker and thanked him. "Son, you're thanking the wrong person, I only bake the bread." Wondering whom to thank, the boy went to the farmer to thank him. "Thank you for the fine bread that I eat every day," he said. "Don't thank me, my friend, I only plant the seeds. The earth, sunshine, rain, and wind make the wheat grow, not I.

By now the boy was tired and hungry so the farmer invited him to join his family for dinner. As they were seated around the table, each person took a piece of bread from the basket and said together: Praised be Thou, O Lord our God, King of the universe, Who brings bread out of the earth."

So, today, let's thank God for the sunny days and the rainy ones, too--as well as for the food He gives us. Each day is truly a blessing!

Chaplain Mitch Schranz

A very pleasant good Sunday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country.

Well, I had to do a hard shutdown of the computer this morning. It froze on me. Last time it happened was July 3rd 2023.((LOL))

In any event, had an AWESOME 60th birthday yesterday.RibsL

And Comanche Lake:

How's everyone doing this morning?

That’s what I’ve heard for years and being in the desert helped Clarence so there must be something to it.
I’ll never know. LOL

Good luck getting to sleep. Your alarm depends on it!
Catch ya tomorrow.

I’m trying to find a mouse that went by me. When I moved, it went downstairs!! I can’t find it! I need more mouse traps.

I have a handful of electronic thingys that are supposed to be here Monday. Either this is a second mouse, or it is the same one that I let go outside last week.

I am starting to see some lawn. Snow is still VERY deep because of all the snow shoveled off the roof, and where the plow guy pushed so much snow up into the yard.

EEK! No fun having a mouse running around. It could well be the one you got out of there last week. They know where to get in and will go back to that spot to get in again.
It just wants to be warm. :-)

Once in a blue moon a mouse gets in here but it doesn’t last long. It’s a dead cat toy by the time I realize one got in. LOL

Let me guess - - the lawn you’re starting to see is in the back close to the creek. You won’t see anything close to the house or in your front yard until late summer due to all the snow from the roof and the plow guys’ work. LOL There’s a LOT of snow piled up!

You have built in protection. LOL!! I’m hoping the electronic ones do their stated jobs. I’ve also got several decon traps out, with peanut butter, no less, but nothing so far.

I do but sometimes I wonder if it’s worth the aggravation for the protection. LOL Aaaaww, they’re worth it and they do do a good job. No mousie survives!

I’ve never tried the electronic thingies so have no idea how well they work. I get little blocks of mouse poison for the well house and those work quite well. I don’t need the lil buggers chewing wires in there.

Ooooo....mousie had better find a new home quick! LOL!

That must have been quite a surprise. I’m hoping that my 6 kitties keep our home mouse-free.
