For the first time in the State of Israel's history, Iran has begun a direct attack on Israel, launching dozens of UAVs toward the Jewish state.
At 1:43 a.m. Israel time, sirens began to wail in the central Negev region, shortly followed by other regions across the country including the Jerusalem and Dead Sea areas, Golan Heights, Gush Etzion, Hebron, and Samaria.

This is more symbolic for Iran, no different than Doolittle’s raid: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doolittle_Raid
But it also serves another purpose and someone already pointed that out.
Iran does not have the eyes (IMINT) and ears (SIGINT) we have. They will likely use a “probing effort” to collect a lot of Intel for follow on or future operations. Iran was likely monitoring from where, with what, how fast, in what numbers, Israel was reacting.
Even if Israel was 99% effective at stopping what was sent their way, I would not take this lightly.
This was a flop for Iran.
That’s likely not how they see it in Iran.
Their is a steep learning curve with events like this. The first IEDs in Iraq were mostly ineffective as well.
The question is how to prevent Iran from doing this again?
I imagine Israel will figure that out.
Thanks for the thread; posts
Iran just stole all the attention from Gaza with their failed attack. Gaza propagandists whining already that Iran screwed up since the attack was a flop.
I hope so.
Alright. Now Israel.... f***ing hammer Iran to dust. Do it!
Would not bother me a bit.
Israel lacks the means to do that.
There are many Iranian ex-pats who despise the mullahs, and many in Iran who do too.
No, I’m very much opposed to civilian casualties.
Given the right circumstances, they could revolt. Just look at Romania in 1989. If the IDF attack enough of the IRGC buildings and ‘cut off the head’ of the Iranian regime, a revolution may occur. One can hope and pray for such an event.
I certainly pray for such.
A couple of MOABs would work
Don’t forget all the proxy attacks on America, Israel, and international shipping.
Go easy on American residents. They still think news happens on TV and is never personal. I owe them one for my neighbor in Kiryat Arba, murdered on the highway, head of a big family. I can’t join the army, ‘cause I’m an old fart. But his sons can and probably have.
Glad to hear that you are ok, I specifically was praying for you last night. I am just hoping for a “proportionate” response from Israel, meaning 300 missiles aimed at Iran’s nuclear facilities, sites for building drones...
