By forming the Supreme Court majority that would finally reverse Roe v. Wade and restore the right of the people and their elected representatives to protect unborn children and their mothers in the law, President Trump can truly be called the most consequential pro-life president in history.

Since the 2022 midterms, however, a narrative has taken hold that the life issue costs Republicans elections and is better left to the states, anyway – a narrative that threatens this great accomplishment. With policy platforms suddenly having very real consequences, many candidates became fearful, listened to consultants and opted for the "ostrich strategy" of burying their heads in the sand. These candidates fared badly.
...
Now, in the midst of the 2024 campaign, President Trump's long-awaited announcement of his stance tragically pigeonholes abortion as a matter of states’ rights. It has met with disappointment from the pro-life community and the millions of Americans who are looking for a national leader who can build consensus and stand up to the pro-abortion extremism of Joe Biden and congressional Democrats.
It would be a disaster to cede a winnable fight to Biden and the radically pro-abortion Democrats, who unapologetically push their extreme agenda on every American. We can’t quit working to defeat them in the battleground states that will decide control of the White House and Congress, and the SBA Pro-Life America team remains focused on reaching 10 million voters – four million at their doors. As always, the key to changing hearts, minds and votes is contrast with the Democrat Party position of abortion any time for any reason.
...
... President Trump and the GOP should embrace and fight for this consensus – not abandon the fight nationally. Embracing this position is both smart policy and smart politics.

The demons have billions to brainwash people. We have chump change. We will not be able to save any babies if we lose this election. Focus on the millions who have been hurt by and/or bullied into abortion. Say no more at this time.
Play offense instead on the dozens of issues with which we crush the Rats. And do not backtrack on this strategy for one minute.
Its worse than a straw man argument, it’s straight up bs.
Pro life people LOST this argument for 53 years until Trump made it so it was taken back out of the constitution so this country can accept the grace of God again.
Now the pro lifers jump on Trump. Not any one else who LOST this for the past 53 years no. Trump. The guy who fixed it. The only one who did anything to fix it other than talk
That’s why pro life people lose. Because they are stupid, naive, linear thinking, ignorant ingrates who are way off as usual
The presidential election is to get the president into office against America hating cheaters who will put abortion back in practice 10 fold just for spite
Pro-Lifers, of which I am one, have to realize that they don’t have a home in any party.
👍
If it’s up to the states, then why is the top Republican leader bashing States that have unacceptable policies?
The underlying argument against Roe v. Wade by the pro-life side was that abortion is NOT a Federal issue but should be addressed by the states. These people come across as insincere and underhanded when they now stake out a position that UNDERMINES the successful legal argument that won the day in the U.S. Supreme Court.
When Democrats have an issue that is too extreme for the public, they still get it approved. There was a time when they weren’t supposed to bring up gay marriage and stuff like that but they just did it anyway and they got it. But any conservative issue has to be hidden from the public at all cost. Being pro-life is less acceptable than being a pedophile.
Will ANYBODY be a fking MAN in this country and defend the baby in the womb?!!!!
Agreed. Trump is correct.
Trump plays to win that’s for sure regardless of the details of his positions.
Based on what?
Yeah. No one needs positions or details. Since when is that important?
As well, leadership doesn't have to equate to federal law.
I believe that if the Congress wanted to federalizing have a national law pertaining to abortion, they could pass one. The fact of the matter is they had 50 years to pass one and could have, but they didn’t do it because it is a hot button issue that raises a lot of money for them. Same goes for Republicans.
The absolute hypocrisy on the right is that conservatives are supposed to believe in limited government so when Roe v. Wade was overturned and sent back to the individual states to deal with then that’s what we should’ve all wanted , deal with it at the state level and figure out what
Abortion is just such a hot button, emotional issue, that no rational, cognitive thought can come up with a logical solution. At this point with the problems we are facing that’s about the last thing. I’m worried about right now.
“which is what Trump promised several weeks ago.“
You are just ticked because Trump took the only position that would not destroy his chances to win. You are a never Trumper fraud.
You claim the way for a Republican win is to follow the progressive agenda on everything. I don't agree with that.
Trump has defeated all comers-challengers he is the supreme uncontested leader of the GOP period.
Trump not perfect but not a RINO. Opens the door for something better.
My understanding of the Constitutional relationship between the feds and states is that the federal government cannot pass national laws, unless it is associated with its enumerated powers, otherwise the Supremacy clause does not apply and states are allowed to ignore it at will.
The only exceptions to this is a Constitutional Amendment to give the federal government another enumerated power or for the federal government to declare martial law to impose this law.
