My house in NJ rattled for 5 seconds, on phone with coworkers in Albany and Westchester NY, they had issues at the same time. This was about 30 sec ago.
No windmills between Springfield and Amherst that I know of.
I was in my office in Northampton when it happened, and there was some decent shaking going on.
One thing I have noticed popping up is a lot of solar panel farms in places that were once rolling fields.
Lived in California for 30+ years. 4.5 is nothing, but if you live in the north east it is a big deal. No wonder folks were scared.
noticed those myself on rt 2 all the way in past Lexington, when visiting last year.
which makes perfect sense, doesn’t it, since by whatever measure they use to determine how much sunshine a place gets, mass is probably in the same quartile as london. but that never stopped the legislature from grifting off of a bad idea.
granite responds differently to sand.
LOL
15 miles away from whitehouse station/lebanon area and we had broken glass items that fell off shelves. still rumbling at times and it was a couple hours ago?
I think I was in AZ for a minor one some years ago but again it’s unusual so it was surprising. Sure glad I haven’t lived where they are severe.
maybe frozen ground noise? I forget the name for it. we had that in cold climate years ago.
I lived in LA and have been through several quakes - even the Northridge quake. My cats were always worthless. Nothing. Not a thing until they hit.
The signs are piling up.
“Does anyone want to predict how long it will be before some media idiot claims the earthquake was the result of climate change?”
Although I am not a media idiot, you read it hear first — see Post No. 126.
Fascinating. Thanks for the links.
You’re welcome!
Just felt some aftershocks! (Do they really come 7-8 hours later?)
