On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg stated that “the automotive sector is moving towards EVs” and China pushed for an advantage in the EV market “because that’s the economically smart play” but “we can’t just sit back and let this happen on its own pace” because there’s a competition between the U.S. and China.
Co-host John Roberts asked, “Tesla sales fell 8.5% the first quarter of this year, Ford, this week, is laying off two-thirds of its workforce at the F-150 electric Lightning plant, it’s also scaling back a battery production facility because of sagging sales. EV sales are nowhere near what this president wanted or expected. Yet, the administration continues to shove them down consumers’ throats. Why?”

He's a master at saying alot and saying nothing.
Let the free market decide on EV’s.
It is expected that the coproohage would have dung for brains.
“Let the free market decide on EV’s.”
The admin is, as are many Americans, communist. Command economy is for them.
“EV sales are nowhere near what this president wanted or expected.”
And what could be more important to any American that making this president happy?
Who gives a sh1t what ONE INCOMPETENT, SENILE OLD MAN wants?
That perfectly encapsulates “we’ll shove it up your ass and you will like it.”
A sniveling little faggot who thinks he’s qualified to tell me what to drive.
I agree, we need to Mandate that ALL Public Employee’s Nationwide immediately be Prohibited from Using, Owning or Possessing any and All ICE powered vehicles of any kind. They can show America the wonders of exclusively using EV vehicles for ALL TRAVEL.
“Buttigieg: Industry ‘Moving Towards EVs’ But We Can’t Let ‘Economically Smart Play’ ‘Happen on Its Own Pace’”
Read the article - it is right out the SOVIET PLAYBOOK. A CLASSIC case of a “Command Economy”.
But I know, Trump’s mannerisms are an EMBARRASSMENT to us in the more ‘erudite’ classes, so let’s go with pure Soviet Socialism instead. Right?
(obviously, I’m not talking to you, Chicago, but there still many here who agree the above)
Just put big fat tariffs in chinese EVs and we can take our time and let the tech mature.
WHO FAKED that he was riding a BICYCLE to work.
Now that the bridge fell down, he thinks he’s relevant.
Ain’t Communism wonderful.
Yep, and so far, it's telling them they don't want EV's. The gov't has no business being in the automobile market. From Amtrak to health insurance, the gov't should not be in any market place. The gov't forces US citizens to buy health insurance and then gives it away free to illegal aliens. You don't suppose they're trying to buy votes, do you?
Worst President ever, including Carter and Obama.
This is a guy who couldn’t fill the potholes in South Bend, chosen because he’s queer, Didn’t Earn It (DEI).
And now I’m supposed to buy that he’s an expert on the future of transportation?
Just NO!
The market is ALREADY saturated or EV sales. Just about everybody who wants or can afford a battery-array powered EV already owns one, or has given up on the pursuit of the purchase of one. They are toys, not serious modes of transportation. Hybrids with an ICE are a much better bridge vehicle. At least until hydrogen fuel cells are widely available, and for which there is scarcely any infrastructure yet developed.
At best, battery powered EVs are a niche vehicle, for only specific purposes, like short travel distances in a locality where charging facilities are easily accessed, or hauling limited number of passengers or weight of goods.
If my circumstances were right for it, I would buy a Tesla - but they’re not.
Everybody who wants one and for whom it is well-suited already has one. There’s nothing wrong with having an EV if your needs are supported by one - but most people are better off with an ICE and they know it.
Peak EV has arrived. The idea of a generation/transmission/charging infrastructure buildout is a stupid fantasy - cannot happen under our existing system of government.
Buttplug wants to shove a battery up your
