Like I said totally preventable "accident". It's called "Sea and Anchor Detail" for a reason. I suggest you pipe down. Have you ever been on the bridge of a ship? LOL...
Learn:
"As with any emergency operation, dropping anchor under the circumstances requires swift action that can prevent any imminent danger. The handling of the vessel and her anchor will differ as per the characteristics but the above points give a general direction to the procedure that is required in such a case."

Baltimore isn’t even a major container port by U.S. standards. It’s reputation is built on handling imports AND exports of autos and heavy farming equipment. It also handles a lot of dry bulk cargo like coal and grain, if I remember my U.S. port statistics accurately.

Possibly, an example of what a sleeper crew can do when given instructions to carry out...A good sleeper crew would have hit the bridge during rush hour. For that reason alone, I doubt terrorism.

Would info like that go out over the radio?
If so, why wasn’t it caught by people who like to listen?

The fact that ABC News was the first with this info should invite some suspicion...

Even if the ship lost stearage and/or all control of the rudder and was heading for the bridge support the CO/pilot could always drop anchor and stop fwd motion. Did that happen? I don’t think so...Unless you have worked on a ship you do not understand how much time it takes to drop emergency anchor.

Funny how seamanship 101 says if steerage is lost and the ship is making way ( heading for a bridge!!! ) DROP THE ANCHOR!!!!Unless you have worked on a ship you do not understand how much time it takes to drop emergency anchor.

A cargo ship’s anchor is attached to the deck?

Possible: The return of electrical power, “found” the steering indicator at a new position . . . that explains the last heading: reply 361

Better if the USA made everything here. Then these ports would be uneccssary. Good lord, are you that ignorant? LOL.
Most ports on the U.S. east coast are older than the country itself.

The secretary of transportation, Pete Buttigieg, will be on this with his usual level of incompetency.

The ship ppers to have lost electrical power just before the collision, but why did the pilots not steer the ship center span of the bridge?Pretty obvious, no power, no steering. Not enough time for emergency manual steerage.
