(The Center Square) – President Joe Biden's dogs have been on a biting spree, and now an investigation is under way.
The House Education and the Workforce Committee has launched an investigation into the Occupational Safety and Health Administration raising the question: Is Biden's dog getting special treatment while White House staff fear getting bitten?
Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., sent a letter to the Department of Labor acting head Julie Su Monday, a follow-up to a previous letter on the same issue.
"Recently, news reports say the number of known dog-bite incidents involving the President's dog Commander and Secret Service employees has risen to 24," the letter said. "In light of this new information, the Committee stresses that it is still concerned about the occupational safety and health program for all employees working at the White House and the Executive Office of the President (EOP)."
Secret Service members are reportedly suffering the brunt of the dog bites, with at least one having to get six stitches. CNN reports the number is actually much higher than 24 and that Secret Service has had to change the way it operates to work around the dogs.
Biden's other dog, Major, has reportedly had the same issue though not to the same extent.
The group Judicial Watch released 269 pages of Secret Service records last month on the issue obtained from Freedom of Information Act requests.
"After one incident, East Wing public tours were stopped for approximately 20 minutes due to the blood on the floor from the attack in the area of the 'Booksellers,'" the group said in its release. "A January 28, 2023, email chain discusses three biting incidents, '2 incidents today and one yesterday.' Later that day, a Presidential Protection Division official whose name is redacted emails Senior White House Advisor Anthony Bernal that 'Commander bit one of the Navy Staff' who worked at Camp David."
Foxx's letter raises questions about whether the White House is getting a pass on federal reporting requirements for these kinds of incidents.
The White House press team did not respond to a request for comment in time for publication.
"As I stated in my prior letters, the White House should not embrace an attitude of 'rules for thee, but not for me' when it comes to workplace safety," the letter said. "The EOP's own Congressional Budget Submission for Fiscal Year 2024 estimates that the EOP is comprised of just over 2,000 full-time equivalent employees. It is surprising that DOL has no data to share from the EOP in response to the Committee's questions, given the number of EOP staff.
"The Committee has an interest in ensuring that the White House is providing the same protections to its workforce that it demands of the private sector. Furthermore, the Committee has an interest in ensuring that DOL has accurate data on the EOP and the White House."
Maybe the dogs are letting Bite me know that they can’t stand him either.
They probably give the dogs cocaine too.
“ Is Biden’s dog getting special treatment while White House staff fear getting bitten? “.
Dems are so good with weasel words. Putting two qualifiers in one sentence allows the answer to be “no” since the White House staff can say that they do not fear getting bitten. If it only said… Is Biden’s dog getting special treatment,…. the answer is unquestionably yes
Cocaine Shepherd.
“A normal family would have had to put down this dog years ago.”
A normal family would have liability insurance, which would have increased after the first bite if the insurance didn’t cancel. First bite in terms of being sued is sometimes considered “free” but second bite- big liability. If one of his dogs bites someone not restricted in their ability to sue Biden personally, they should get a huge damage award.
Biden has demonstrated he should not be a dog owner. Interesting that Trump is one of only three presidents not to own a dog while in office. Didn’t need to pretend he was an animal lover like his Democrat predecessors. Clinton’s were pretty bad owners. Dog got killed less than a year after his presidency, Socks the cat was abandoned to his Secretary.
If this doesn’t get fixed the Republicans will hold hearings…
Oh, noooooo! Not more hearings!!!!................
Horses do have a sense of humor.
So I found out!.................
Dogs are reflections of their owners. I have been around dogs my entire life. Rescued and fostered hundreds of them. Biden is a nasty violent bully with a quick temper and the dog, especially a guard dog like the German Shepherd, will pick up on that.
A comment a while back on Zero Hedge said that the Secret Service had become the world’s most expensive chew toys.
;-)
The way our federal agencies have been bastardized, I just
might side with the dog.
The Bidens obviously don’t have dogs as pets and companions-they are just accessories for photo ops, and I’ll bet they are kicked, slapped, etc if FJB is annoyed by them. Working/Guarding breed dogs are active and need to have a job to do-they do NOT make good designer accessory pets-that is not what they are bred for-and like any animal that gets abused, they are going to bite. If the Bidens want an accessory dog, let them get a poodle, yorkie or some other cute little purse dog to carry around. I want to see this German Shepherd go to a loving home with someone who knows how to be a pack leader to a big, active dog-he deserves that-not a negligent and abusive owner...
I’ve always had working/guarding large breed dogs, purchased from the best recommended AKC Kennel I could find, and I only have one dog at a time, so I can devote time to them and they become a companion and protector. I’ve had 2 female German Shepherds, a male Chow and a female Siberian Husky-all were healthy and lived a long time-my Chow and my Husky lived to be over 17. All of my dogs knew I was the alpha, and not one of my dogs ever bit anyone who was at my home by invitation-although my Husky did put herself between me and an intruder while I picked up my gun. None of them ever harmed my cats and all allowed the cats to sleep in their doggie bed with them. It breaks my heart to see such a fine dog treated this way...
Yep. Which is why Joe should have gotten a Golden Retriever or a Basset Hound.
That is so true-dogs are smarter and more intuitive than a lot of people realize-in a perfect world, people like the Bidens would not be able to have any pets-or any kids-look what they have done to the dogs and kids they already have...
At least the dogs only bite those over 18.
Ol’ Joe, of course, prefers nibbling on the prepubescent.
No working dogs-they get bored and confused by Biden-he needs a poodle, yorkie-some other kind of little terrier, etc-something small to carry around and not big enough to bite any SS personnel in a serious way...
Great post. I agree 💯%.
I agree with everything you say.
This is a joke, right?
