US urged Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries(Biden fears higher gas prices will hurt his selection chances)

The US has urged Ukraine to halt attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure, warning that the drone strikes risk driving up global oil prices and provoking retaliation, according to three people familiar with the discussions.

The repeated warnings from Washington were delivered to senior officials at Ukraine’s state security service, the SBU, and its military intelligence directorate, known as the GUR, the people told the Financial Times.

“Nothing terrifies a sitting American president more than a surge in pump prices during an election year,” said Bob McNally, president of consultancy Rapidan Energy and a former White House energy adviser.

Marxist Democrats want Ukraine to surrender before President Trump has an opportunity to kick Russian corruption and influence out of Europe in his second term. That will benefit Americans, American jobs and the US economy as a whole. That’s the last thing those day dreaming of Making Russia Great Again want.

It’s been my contention for a while now that gas prices will come down just before the election to give the democrats a better chance of winning.

Time will tell.

Every year I fall into geting mad to hear the phony excuse “gas prices are up because Americans are out there on the highways as the Spring weather beckons them.”
BS
The past few weeks and even now there have been major storms and snowfalls in the Midwest and Northern border states and especially the Northeast. And various heavy rain and mud problems in the West.
People are staying inside during those.
Price manipulators and speculators are increasing prices to make money.

In 2022 Russia was producing around ten million barrels of oil per day. I didn’t see any recent official numbers, but I have seen numbers as low as five million barrels per day.

https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/russian-oil-output-expected-hold-steady-2024-2023-12-27/

MOSCOW, Dec 27 [2023] (Reuters) - Oil output in Russia, the third largest producer in the world after the United States and Saudi Arabia, is expected to be steady or even to increase next year as Moscow has largely overcome Western sanctions, analysts said.

The government has said that Russian oil and gas condensate production is set to decline to 527 million metric tons (10.54 million barrels per day) this year from 535 million tons in 2022, as Moscow has restrained supply in line with its agreement with the OPEC+ group, comprising the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies.

Here in central Washington, our gas prices have risen over sixty cents a gallon during the last three weeks. Kind of odd considering the election is just a few months away.

I believe the elephant in the room is how badly the middle class on down to the poorest here are being hammered by food, gasoline and rent prices. I truly hope people vote their empty pocketbooks this election and decimate the far left Dems for a decade or more.
