Very likely we will lose power. The winter storm warning is for heavy, mixed precip with a total of 6-10" of snow, sleet accumulations of up to an inch, and ice up to 2/10".
It starts around midnight tonight and is forecast for 100% precip through sunset tomorrow night. Then after the storm is over, the winds will increase with gusts up to 35 mph. Whatever the snow and ice don't bring down, the winds will.
There have been warnings up everywhere but people here are prepared. LOTS of generators running during many of these events.
We lose power rather easily so I fully expect to be without at some point during the storm for the duration. The blessing is that it is hitting on a weekend and at night.
Wow, that sounds like quite a snow storm. Stay safe milady!
Obviously fake news, self appointed Professor of atmospheric physics AOC said “We don’t like get any snow anymore because of climate change”
Maybe 2” here in South East Wisconsin. No biggy.
Yep, it’s noy going to be fun. Global warming to lessen the
issues though. Yes, I am being sarcastic, but not really trying to be callous. 😋
<p.
Stay safe & hopefully you will be spared the outage.
“Very likely we will lose power.”
It used to be that way here in North Idaho. Then I bought a permanently installed emergency generator with an Automatic Transfer Switch. It’s all automatic.
Installed it 2-1/2 years ago. Guess how many outages we’ve had since then?
South Jersey area where I live we are getting 3-4 inches of rain with 35 mph hour wind gusts. On the good side of this prediction, if it would have been snow It would be about 40 inches of snow with blizzard conditions. I’ll take the rain.
Global warming alert.
Was nice and sunny here in the Bay Area, now it’s overcast
Great
Guess I’ll stay home and shampoo the cat...

There is a young lady in Sweden weeping.
An intense snow forcast....
Do you have a way to hear your home?
Here in west Michigan we got 7-8 inches. Its stopped now.
It’s not Winter. It’s not a Winter storm. It’s Spring. It’s a Spring storm.
Here in Atlantic Canada we are forcast to receive from a foot and a half to three feet of snow, same system as from New England.
Power outages are likely because the storm is forcast to begin with snow late Saturday afternoon and then turn to rsin over night and back t9o snow for most of Sunday. The rain freezes on the lines and on the trees, the weight and storm wind toppling them onto the lines.
We will be digging ourselves out Sunday nite and Monday morning.
I can remember when a nor’easter meant a 3 day blizzard with 2-3 FEET of snow. Anything else was just simply, a snow storm. I still think of it that way. Otherwise, it’s just sensationalizing. The weather stations tend to do that any more.
Your post is useless without a location.
