New York State Targets U.S. Citizen Donald Trump with Unprecedented Lawfare Maneuver, Effectively to Place Him Under a Personal Consent Decree
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | March 22, 2024 | Sundance

The Eighth Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishments, but also mentions “excessive fines” and bail. The “excessive fines” clause surfaces (among other places) in cases of civil and criminal forfeiture.

In New York state, Attorney General Letitia James, in coordination with New York Judge Arthur Engoron, are seeking to continue the targeting of President Donald Trump with a series of financial judgements, penalties and control mechanisms intended to isolate the leading 2024 Republican presidential candidate from his wealth.

As if something akin to the John Galt character in Atlas Shrugged was coming to life, no American individual has ever faced this level of intentional weaponization of power. If the state appellate court does not intervene, I predict a federal judge will have to get involved. The reason is simple; the State of New York is clearly violating the 8th Amendment, and despite the compromised judiciary, the scale of overreach is even beyond the ability of the pretending judicial system to overlook it.

The tweet stated campaign disclosures showed 500 million and that’s what the judge used to set the penalty.

No campaign disclosures showed that.

Simple.

Keep in mind, the original civil charge against President Trump revolves around inverting a state statute intended to protect the consumer from predatory lending. To construct her case, AG James had to reverse the statute and make President Trump a predatory borrower, despite the lenders saying they had no issue with the paperwork used by President Trump to secure reconciled bank loans.

I'm pleased to see this line of thought starting to appear in the media.

I first posted it on February 22:

For this law to apply to Trump, the meaning of the law would have to be turned upside-down: Trump becomes the predator, the banks become the scammed, and there has to be a pattern of repeated schemes to damage multiple banks via fraudulent misrepresentations.
I most recently rephrased the thought on March 19:

Is it fair to conclude that the state of New York has put the international banks into the role of the consumer? In that role, what is it that the international banks are being lured into consuming?

I am tired, weary, fed up with weak and stupid actions in the government.
First, the man that sits in the oval office was not elected.. And he is woefully in over his head with no ability and no accountability for the dangerous mess he and his helper, has made.
Congress sit, on their laurels, while Rome burns.
I saw the National Guard in Texas get trampled on as the ugly masses broke into the border.. National Guard has no authority to save their lives while standing between our land line and a band of invaders literally overtaking our border guards.????
This is the United States!! Since when do we surrender to the enemy!!
I have family in El Paso.. They live locked and loaded.. The government of the United States has let the country be invaded and has not protected citizens in the path.
This is the definition of Treason,, and congress has done nothing.. Weak. We are leaning into being a second class country because we have a second class leadership..
For the people... Trump knows how.. You, in Washington don’t have a clue!

The tweet stated campaign disclosures showed 500 million...

The tweet that I see on this thread doesn't say that. Is there another tweet?

Post 17, the one I responded to.

but also mentions “excessive fines” and bail.

A law professor once told me that the Constitution's right to bail, and at a reasonable amount, is absolute. Judges simply usurped the power to deny bail.

New York treating Trump like this.. There is a dark cloud of doom hovering over the land.. No one has fought it at the tight levels..
Look!! Right is still right, and wrong is still wrong. You in congress.. You in the rotten media.. You who are after Trump.. You can only go so far with this.. Right will overrule all your plans.

I was referring to Trump's tweet, not Travis' tweet. Trump's tweet makes no mention of whether the money is his personal money or money that is currently part of the campaign.

The Travis' tweet said "disclosure laws", not "campaign disclosure laws".

And you have not documented any of these disclosures.

More and more evidence that we need the down ballot races to turn Republican and MAGA, too.
The current judiciary is, at best, suspect to do the right thing in all this BS.
The conditions added by Engoron, this week, simply prove the real focus is to destroy DJT and his businesses.
Take a guarantee via the merger, today.
Take a guarnatee via the properties he holds.
They have it within their purview to accept guarantees (at this stratospheric, illegal, confiscatory level, even) that will satisfy the ‘bond’ requirement.
But, they are holding his feet to the fire with a demand for cash.
I’m certainly not DJT, but...if it were me, I’d do whatever is necessary to get through this, and then start shopping all my NY properties, and get the hell out. Let NY stew in its own juices.

This kind of arrogance shows they know they will not lose and they will never be held accountable.

Get ready, all hell is going to break loose in November. They obviously have knowledge we do not.

Well then, good thing the US is not a democracy, but a Constitutional Republic.

Where did you come up with this bazaar statistic?
“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years”

It’s not a Tweet. It’s a Truth Social post.

Nothing in it said anything about disclosures.

Simple... you’re simply wrong.

These Democrats are not playing around, they will jail and ruin you.

Very true. They have no qualms about destroying someone's life if it serves their purpose.

No disclosures showed that much cash on hand. None.

Please cite your source. That's is a pretty big claim and should be backed up. Thanks

They are public and available to view online.

That is a bit vague. As you may know, there is kind of a lot of information on-line. In fact I read just the other day that alien invisible goblins control things and that you have been grumpy ever since your anal probe that they performed on you in their invisible space ship. IOf course I would cite the source but it's public and available to view online if you want to see it for yourself.

Hoechst just outside of Frankfurt, West Germany, 1985. Red Army Faction communist sympathizers were waging violent protests outside our US Army post gates for weeks ("Auslander rous!") so they had us on rotation to stand out there with rifles but no ammunition while the punks hurled insults, rocks, bodily wastes and such.

I was NEVER without ammunition. Three magazines and rounds for my baby, Ms. M-203. The loons saw the look on my face and saw I was loonier. Good times.

Please retain hope and keep doing what you can. God is not on their side.

Omg. Post 17.

That’s what I was responding to.

And no disclosure has shown 500 million cash on hand.

A truth social post is not a disclosure and it was sent after all of this.
