She threatened earlier to file a motion to vacate....

Absolutely drug testing. I’ve been calling for that for decades, make it a constitutional requirement and have Pelosi first in line to pee in that cup.
He is led by his heart, that makes him a child. Like Democrats or better said Libtards, they “feel the need”, “feel for the downtrodden”, “grieve for the criminals”. They are CHILDREN, they need to leave the business of governing to adults.
He has the religion thing too deeply ingrained. We don’t need to be led by those with soft hearts. People like him have a place in the chamber, but not as power player. The power players need to direct that power into logical directions. The Johnsons of Congress need to be there as bit players, or not at all.
Give me 280 MTG’s or Pelosi’s, with a loyalty to MAGA, we’ll have something to work with.
If that.
The stupid party strikes again. This is an incredibly dumb move.
I would like to share your optimism, I don’t.
......it’s the 34 Trillion dollar question!
It seems that all of the pettiness and desire for political suicide has taken over nearly all the Republican members of congress. While some may not be as conservative in views as I’d like, others are willing to throw away control to the Democrapts because they’ve gotten urked about something.
With Republicans like those, I may just as well vote for the Democrapt candidate this November.
Post 24......................
You can bet the contract to perform the testing would go to a company in a hardcore blue district that would "misread" some results and misplace others...
“His other choice was to shut down the government. This is campaign season. My gut tells me he didn’t want to give the Dems a campaign talking point.”
Exactly. And the problem is not Johnson. It is that 80% of the GOP wants more spending. He cannot prevail against what the majority of his caucus rapidly advocates for.
I think he has been pretty good and is by far the best we can get at this moment. Next year may be different, but for now, he’s the best.
If people "notice" that non-essential government operations are shut down, our government is too big.
Moxie
She’s. got moxie
Yep and shut down government. The GOP is weak, they do whatever the dems want.
Yes he could tackle it himself by not letting it come to the floor.
Screw the “government shut down” vaudeville show.
Dems create election season talking points out of thin air.
Repeal and replace Obamacare
The border...
Impeach Biden
Etc.
They talk, use that to raise money, but do nothing.
But did she submit it? I don’t see any headlines that one might see if she actually submitted a motion to vacate. What is she waiting for?
I recall when Johnson was made Speaker, all the party groupies thought he was Mr. Wonderful.
I agree. But the fact remains, that we have never prevailed in public opinion in one single shutdown. Not one. We have a razor thin majority and a shutdown would be a bad thing at this moment and would hurt us.
If you have a 38 snub in your pocket and some stick up man has a gun in your ribs, you better to pretend to cooperate for a minute. And when you see that one magic moment of inattention, draw and pop him.
Our magic moment was to wait until after the election.
90% of America just wants the morphine drip of stability. Don’t change a thing in the middle of an election.
This is the equivalent of Rick Scott in the 22 election. Right after we won overturning Roe vs Wade in June of 22, we were all saying now it was all sent to the states.
Rick Scott rolls in in early October and says now we need a FEDERAL law forbidding it. 5 weeks before the election, he decided it was the perfect time to inflame slut culture.
I don’t like it either, but for 90% of America, it would be “Republicans shut down the government”, and the news would be filled wall to wall with military people in breadlines, all the parks would close, the FAA would all close the control towers, etc.
This is a time to just be stable for a few short months, then pull the 38 when Trump gets back in. If he doesn’t, it doesn’t matter anyway.
Let's hope.
