Johannesburg, Soweto Run Out of Water as South Africa’s Utilities Face Collapse
Breitbart ^ | 03/18/2024 | JOEL B. POLLAK

Posted on 03/18/2024 6:48:50 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Johannesburg and the large township of Soweto nearby have been forced to endure several days without water as electricity problems have knocked out pumping stations and a late summer heat wave has strained reservoirs.

Residents have been forced to rely on bottled water as local utilities have turned down water pressure, or turned off water completely. And outside Johannesburg’s wealthier, leafy suburbs, spare water has been in short supply.

South Africa’s Daily Maverick reported:

On Sunday, 17 March, Johannesburg Water said the system remained under “severe strain”, and the bulk supplier, Rand Water, warned that its system faced imminent collapse. Many taps are still as dry as a bone.

The water cuts, low pressure and throttling affect the entire system; only some areas have regular supplies. Large parts of Soweto had dry taps and residents reported that local shops ran out of bottled water or could not afford to buy more. Johannesburg Water has between 25 and 28 water tankers – insufficient for the scale of the crisis.

Rand Water says the heatwave is driving the crisis, as its water demand chart shows. Southern Africa is facing its hottest February and March. … The weather is a factor, but Johannesburg generally has hot summers which are predictable for water planners.

The solution of course is to force everyone to go all electric!

“DEI on steroids??”

OBVIOUSLY, the water systems in South Africa were NOT designed or built for DEI, so of course they’re failing. No different than all of the aviation problems were having, and for that matter the problems our military equipment is having in Ukraine.

The question that I have is why haven’t people (with money) dug their own wells, as it should have OBVIOUS that this was coming, once DEI was imposed on non-DEI Infrastructure components.

Sure they can. If Whitey had just left them to muddy puddles, they wouldn’t have become dependent on water plants and electricity!

Same thing that is happening to the water system in Birmingham Alabama. Now tell me, what is the common denominator? Which group of people is not capable of running and maintaining the infrastructure of a large city? No need to answer, we all know what that is.

And, I am sure that the enviroTards will claim that this is evidence that the world is short of water. So, most of Y’ALL have to die.

No, this is an infrastructure issue. Like water shortages out thisaway in CaCaLand are not due to droughts but all the fault of politicos refusing to build storage.

The amount of rain has not changed. Over eons.

That comment is spot on. One needs to stop, and just THINK about this for a moment. The LOSS of Elon Musk to the entire economy of South Africa was substantial. If only they would have made peace and realize at the end of the day, WE ALL NEED EACH OTHER.

AND !!!! NEWSOM is tearing down dams.

NO MORE flood control-—NO more water storage for irrigation of agricultural crops into the late summer.

Wait until Home owner insurance refused to cover “FLOODS”.

HOME OWNER insurance in N Calif is already as high as $10,000 +++ a year because of the fires.
