He used the word ‘regret’ which to most people means he’s sorry he said the word ‘illegal’ and wished he hadn’t. That’s awfully close to an apology.
And he didn’t appear to mispronounce her name as “Lincoln Riley,” he did call her Lincoln, twice. Has he apologized or expressed regret?

Biden, appearing to mispronounce her name as "Lincoln Riley," called her "an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal," a term many immigrants and advocates find offensive. Tough beans.
The words *illegal* and *immigrant* are not synonymous.
If an *immigrant* is offended, chances are that person is an illegal and just doesn't like being called out on it.
