In just a few hours, Luis Wenus, an engineer and entrepreneur, converted a $115 (£89.99) drone into the basis of a deadly weapon.
Using AI facial recognition the drone was programmed to recognise individuals and race towards them at full speed.

In a video posted to X, formerly Twitter, Mr Wenus and his engineer colleague, demonstrated how a commercial drone can be programmed to chase down targets.
In the post, Mr Wenus writes: 'I thought it would be fun to build a drone that chases you around as a game.'
The drone uses an AI 'object detection model' to recognise faces using its onboard camera.
Once it sees a face, the drone is programmed to try and keep it in the centre of its view and fly directly forward, chasing down its target.
In one mode the drone will charge directly towards anything it recognises as a face.

3 Grams is about 46 Grains.
Very good for this purpose.
Don't think so. For something like a missile launch, you could have an onboard computer that could recognize and home in on something like a missile.
Definitely, out in these parts other than the occasional fruitcake/tranny, if you turn the news off, shit is pretty normal. Might as well be 1950 to my kids, but they go to a private Christian school and have no fruitcake/lefty influences. Gonna have to start pulling the curtain back a little for my 10 year old so the ontological shock isn’t too bad. Definitely a different life than my big city friends around the country. Cold as balls for 5-6 months though 👎
Perhaps. But I don’t think that tech is out there yet, not seeing it in Ukraine anyway.
Wenus. ;-)
That Ezekiel passage appears to be a cryptic memo that says,
Go for the wheels!
I remember that from the Gerard Butler flick.
Bingo
What is "full speed"?
“ what is full speed?”
It’s the speed that damns the torpedoes.
Perhaps that is why Chinese companies have been trying to buy up land within 10 miles of various military bases and possible I C B M launch sites?
metmom :" Typical bully rhetoric.
Sure. It’s just a game. Just a joke.
As if he didn’t know what else it could be used for."
Exactly true (!), sort of a dark joke or game
Sorta like inventing a disease like a flu, that isn't truly deadly through gain of function research,
and then develop an antidote to that flu with a shot that dramatically raises the lethality or fatality rate.
Research does create some dark games, that's why the administration has DARPA to go where other minds won't go.
This guy is a little asshole. Plain and simple
Didn’t you have something like this, disguised as a bird, in one of your books?
“Foreign Enemies and Traitors”, perhaps?
Actually, I think that was a Next Generation episode.
Could have been.
Not in a book, just in a link to a story.
There are “flapping” (no rotary propellers) drones that resemble dragon flies, birds etc.
Solar powered, they can be directed to land in the line of sight of their target, waiting. They could wait for days or weeks, just looking for that one programmed face. When the camera eye recognizes the target person, it flies in and explodes against their head.
That’s all available right now, today.
