Yep, ‘tis that time of year. Wild roller coaster rides.
We won’t get as hot next week as y’all will but will have a few days of 70s. But we have a couple of overnight frosts to get through before we warm up.
My hair’s too long to get by with it in a ponytail on windy days. It can still whip around and beat my face. Braids work better, though if the wind’s blowing hard enough they can whip up and smack me. LOL
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Oh my. Is that the same poor bird or is it another one? Gizmo looked quite happy to have it to roll on. LOL
I did scrub him after we got back home. I also took a bath afterwards.
Good evening/morning, ML...((HUGS))...hope the rain has let up, so you and Tippy can enjoy your walks again.
We’ve had partial sunshine for 2 days now and mild temps.....nice!
ANYTHING dead, they love to roll on. LOL
Must be a delightful ride home with him. oof!
Awww...what a shame the wind ruined the beauty of the pear trees. You have so many lovely flowering trees there. Do you have a magnolia. I love that sort-of lemony scent. Not as much as I love gardenias, but close. We can have none of those here. And if we did, our soil would probably make the scent “off”.
Split personality is a good name for it. LOL!
Not all the blossoms blew off but a lot did. The tree is really loaded this year.
There were two magnolias in the front yard but I had them cut down last year. They were planted too close to the edge of the yard when this house was built 30 years ago and Hubby’s dad wasn’t thinking at the time, obviously. They grow to be BIG trees. I told Hubby years ago that they’d have to go at some point because the limbs would start hanging out over the edge of the field. When Dusty harvested the winter wheat last year, the combine ripped a couple of limbs off. That was it. They had to go.
I don’t miss them at all. They’re trashy trees, constantly dropping leaves, as well as flower petals and those horrid cones.
I forgot about the cones. LOL! I can see how that would make a real mess.
I just went out to give the kitties more food for overnight and it is FAAA-REEEEZING out there! It’s 40 but there is enough breeze to really make it feel 31. EEK!
Allegra, get ready. LOL!
Everything about magnolias is messy. The only reason the trees stayed as long as they did was because Hubby really liked them.
I reckon I’ll be in the same boat y’all are in with the cold and wind this time tomorrow night. Not looking forward to it especially since it’s pretty nice here right now. Almost balmy.
That’s what hurts is that it’s warm, warm, warm, and then that ol’ roller coaster takes the plunge and the contrast is almost painful! If it were this temp all the time, I wouldn’t notice it so much. Also, I would have on heavier jammies. LOL!
Guess I’m going to take off for the pillows pretty soon...after the show of course. See ya tomorrow!
We’ll have a lot of nice-and-warm and BRRRR-cold for a while yet. With luck, there won’t be any more snow but it could still happen. Bad enough there’ll be frosts.
But it comes with the territory.
Just a few more weeks.
Enjoy your show. Catch ya tomorrow.
Good morning everyone
Sunny and Cold today...Spring tried to spring, but, evidently the spring was sprung.
Oh Well.
Yep - it is gray, chilly and still windy this morning. Not as windy as the howling variety we had overnight, but a good brisk breeze. I’m headed out to to run a couple of errands shortly and will be wearing the winter stuff. Brrrrrrrrrrrr!
Thanks for this wonderful thread series, K in A!
So beautiful. Brings back great memories! Thanks...
Oh yeah, magnolias “shed.” I did like picking the blossoms and putting them on top of my water cooler when I lived in a townhouse that had magnolias on the property several years ago. They give off a nice scent.
Gray and damp here but not all that windy at the moment. Looks like a few more scattered showers are in store before this mess finally moves outta here. Not too bad temp-wise but it’s starting to drop. I’d love to stay home but I need to go to a visitation this afternoon.
