Trump’s VP search believed to be zeroing in on a trio of senators
The Washington Times ^ | Thursday, March 7, 2024 | Susan Ferrechio and Seth McLaughlin

President Trump is narrowing his choices for a running mate in November and is focused on three young U.S. senators, according to a GOP strategist with close ties to the campaign.

Sens. Katie Britt of Alabama, J.D. Vance of Ohio and Marco Rubio of Florida are the top choices, Ryan Girdusky, a GOP strategist and conservative blogger, said.

Not included on the shortlist: South Dakota Gov, Kristi. Noem, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake, or his former press secretary Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Neither Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis nor Mr. Trump’s recently vanquished GOP primary opponent, Nikki Haley, are under consideration.

Same state phobia here? Not everyone lives in the box they were born in. People move all the time.

This time around, Trump’s first priority in a VP has to be loyalty to him and MAGA. IMHO, Gen. Mike Flynn and Dr. Ben Carson should be at the top of his list. He could task Gen. Flynn to lead a military campaign to deport the illegals after declaring that we have been invaded. Ben Carson would help Trump appeal to African-Americans that they’ve been played by the Rats, and its time for them to vote Republican again like after the Civil War.

Katie Britt of Alabama Of course. Trump's brain is in his pants. Does Britt have big titts?

J.D. Vance of Ohio Eh. Not bad. But he is not the kind of guy that will butt heads with The Butthead. The Stable Genius wants another mike pence.

Marco Rubio This must be a fake list. Or trump has gone stupid. Not that he's going to win, if they even hold an election...

Vance would be awesome, but as you mention, we need that Senate seat in Ohio.

Fake news. This Ryan Girdusky person sounds like another grifter pretending to know things. He’s completely fabricated the whole thing. No one knows who this guy is. He’s a nobody.

Probably a sex buddy of Jim Hoft for all we know.

No, No, and No.

Trump must not take a Republican from an elected office at the federal level.

He votes in Florida. Mar-a-lago is his primary residence. He voted by mail a couple of times when president.

I have kneejerk unease about putting a US senator in an executive position.

Do we know these 3 are not swamp connected?

I like Vance the best of these 3, but he said some unkind, unsupportive things about Trump in the early days of the 2016 campaign. Now I know that Trump and Vance have long since buried the hatchet on that and are on the same page, but the Dems and the media will have a field day with those old remarks.

I still want to see him pick Ron Burgum from North Dakota.<

Of those running for the Republican nomination, Burgum was my favorite.

Being or having been a Governor is a disqualification. Look at Pence.

After Obama with the “Stroke a pen, law of the land” comment, I think there should be a law that no one who was in the congress should be eligible for the presidency. these law makers see the executive as way to make a law without having to garner support for them.

well the usual thing is to make someone bad like Biden/Harris who would be worse. I think he should pick someone really right wing who the left would be afraid of, should he be impeached

Of those three, JD Vance is the only one I could go for. If we had a younger POTUS candidate, he could safely choose someone who’s on the blah side (like Pence was). At Trump’s age he needs to pick someone with heavy experience, and consistently conservative ideas AND ACTIONS. The person needs to be ready to move in to #1 position at a moment’s notice.

Rubio - quasi-RINO.
Britt - neophyte. Flavor of the day. Gimme a frickin’ break.

If a woman, then Stefanik and Noem. (But both are valuable in the positions they’re in now.) I also like Carol Swain but I haven’t seen her name thrown around. She’d also be great heading up Education, until PDJT shuts down that department.

If a man, there are several. Ken Paxton. Andy Biggs. Mark Robinson. Mike Lindell (JUST KIDDING to see if you’re paying attention). Matt Gaetz. Tim Burchett possibly, but sometimes a VP is chosen to bring in a state that’s on the fence, and TN is solid for Trump.

“Tim Scott would be a good choice.”

He’s made some really bad RINO decisions. SUPPORTED MURKOWSKI, for Pete’s sake. Why would Trump pick someone that stupid?

I wonder (as do others) about his sexual preference. He got engaged in January. Perhaps a beard? We don’t need any of that in the White House.
