Teacher unions have strategically been pouring donations into Republican political campaigns, according to a report from the Daily Signal.......
Teachers unions donated "hundreds of thousands of dollars" to certain Republican candidates’ state legislative primaries in states that tout school choice and parental rights bills, including Alabama, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas.
The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Education Policy fellow Jason Bedrick told The Daily Signal that "the unions are terrified that parents are clamoring for more education choice, so they’re doing everything they can to stop it."
He continued, "It’s obvious what’s going on here: In red states, or even red areas of blue states, that means supporting candidates who might disagree with them on other issues but who can be relied upon to oppose policies that expand education freedom for families."
While the teachers' union publicly endorsed Democrats, they have given support to Republicans with a track record of voting against school choice measures.
Furthermore, campaign finance reports posted on X by American Federation For Children senior fellow Corey DeAngelis show that the AFT donated $25,000 to the PAC "Defend Rural Texas PAC."

The problem is: Republicans Can Be Bought.
Very corrupt and very free spending teacher unions have placed a dem governor in the very red state of Kentucky (GOP supermajorities in both houses) the last two elections.
Well, they seem to have completely wasted the money they spent in Texas, as Abbott’s war against those opposing school choice killed off 6 of them.

We have the best government money can buy.
Here in Pennsylvania this has been happening for my entire lifetime but things are slowly changing.
nothing new. the dems work on selecting candidates (in either party. why do you think it’s called the uniparty anyway?). the dem’s also concentrate on various ways to ‘count’ the vote (why do you think they pushed dominion and eric through, not to mention all the trad vote harvesting they do, and now mail in ballots since wuflu). always been true since tamany hall (rep’s too but to a far lesser extent).
if a leftist dem whines about something the opposition is doing, they’re doing it; and if they’re the ones doing it, it’s always ok.
The problem is that many Republicans are not really Republicans or conservatives.
The most insidious TU is the LAUSD they own Newscum and it was their efforts that lead to Ca schools being closed so long because the teachers just didn’t want to go back to work.
My first thought - the guys in the Texas legislature.
What reason can any Republican candidate give for voting against school choice?
There are no reasons - except greed.

Seems like everyone has a price tag attached to them.
I have seen, first hand, the war against charter schools. Sacramento High School opened in 1856. By the early 2000s, it was failing so badly, the State was considering closure. A charter school organization took control after the teacher’s union fought against it.
Even though it was technically a charter school, the school district still had too much control and influence. What really floored me was that only THREE of the teachers who had taught there for years decided to remain. (come to think of it, this was a huge blessing in disguise, since the student test scores were so bad). What I witnessed was incredible. We discovered rat’s nests and other decrepit conditions. Since the school district still had major influence, even acquiring enough classroom desks was a challenge. The heating and air conditioning was controlled at the district office, and they had their fun with it. The heat was turned on when it was hot outside, and the air conditioning blew cold in the winter. Teachers brought space heaters into the classrooms to keep the students from shivering.
The charter organization that took over Sac High is St Hope. A native Sacramento High student, Kevin Johnson, established St Hope after his stellar NBA career. St Hope already had a K-3rd grade school running, and the results were impressive. Third graders would visit the new Sac High. They all had uniforms and were the most polite and respectful 3rd graders I had ever met.
Look up St Hope today. Kevin Johnson’s dream has not just come to fruition. St Hope now has elementary and middle school, to go along with Sac High. Even in Kalifornia, things can change for the better.
(Yes, I know they probably teach Globull bullcrap, but at least the children can read, write, and do arithmetic. They will have a chance to learn more, instead of not being able to even read their diploma).
We just need to break them once. Just get school choice implemented, then a lot of parents pull their kids out of underperforming public schools and these Commies lose their jobs.
The Teachers’ union is arguably the single most destructive organization in America - even ahead of the trial lawyers association.
Abbott Bump!
So they donate to people like Nikki Hayley , who is a great Republican 🙄
Hokaaaaaay
The Teacher’s Union, like most others, launders money for the demoncrats.
