Youngkin throws support behind Trump: ‘It’s time to unite’

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) announced Thursday he’s endorsing former President Trump, one day after Nikki Haley dropped out of the race.

“Voters in the Commonwealth and across the county have spoken loudly for Donald J. Trump and I endorse him for President of the United States,” Youngkin said in a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“His record on border security, restoring American leadership around the world, reducing taxes and lowering the cost of living for all Americans stands in stark contrast to the open borders, failed leadership on the global stage, rampant inflation and higher costs of today,” he continued.

“It’s time to unite around strong leadership and policies that grow our great nation, not four more years of President Biden,” Youngkin added.

Trump thanked Youngkin for his endorsement in a statement on Truth Social.

Wow what courage and resolve. I guess it’s as good as we can get in Virginia these days. The country is on fire and they just gave the rats both houses.

Wow, he’s bold! We’re down to the last man standing, thank God he’s here to help us pick our candidate. Moron.

Yes— him and the Carlyle Group. But NOT if he doesn’t change the VA House and Senate.

Mr. Trump graciously thanked him.

Trump “supporters” on FR throw dung at him.

Interesting.

Youngkin is one to watch in 2028.

>>>I hope Youngkin doesn’t have any ulterior motive in his belated endorsement, especially coming after Birdbrain finally flew away and President Trump was then the presumptive nominee.

However, he must be looking ahead since he’s precluded from running for a second consecutive term as Governor of VA.

I just pray Trump doesn’t end up with another Judas Pence.

This reminds me of the quote attributed to Teddy Roosevelt:

“If you’ve got them by the ^%$^*, their hearts and minds will follow.”

Eeyores ...

You give them far more credit than I do.

I think they’re trolls, here only to stir up trouble. The only question I have is “Who is paying them? Foreign enemies or domestic traitors?”

She already pulled a “Ted Cruz” by telling everyone to “vote their conscience”. Sad, very sad.

She may endorse just prior to the convention to make sure she gets a speaking role there.
