“Violators could face up to $20,000 in fines and one year in prison.”

For speeding.

Ridiculous.

A 10-knot speed limit in Atlantic waters would devastate our business. Most of our customers are recreational fishermen or charter boat captains who might as well not own a boat," said Tideline Boats President George Stronach. "When people buy a boat, especially in North Carolina, but also in our other major markets like Florida, they expect to be able to fish 12 months of the year, and you cannot fish if you can't exceed 10 knots. This rule will cost Americans thousands of jobs and crush American small businesses like ours."

Who is the audience of this? Certainly Tideline Boats President understands that that is the intended effect of the regulation and the desired outcome?

The White House did say yesterday that it will take time to feel the effects of Bidens Policies, cruising to the Bahamas at 10 knots will give them plenty of time to Feel It.

“ The Union of Locomotive Engineers demands that the maximum speed for all trains on the Rio Norte Line be reduced to 60 miles per hour, and the Union of Railway Conductors and Brakemen demands that the length of all trains on the line be reduced to 60 cars.”

“”But if I can’t travel faster than 10-knots, then I will have to shut down,” he warned. “Sadly this is more governmental overreach.””

But just think of all the new employees that one agency can hire at taxpayer expense...How would they possibly manage to catch all the speeders without adding to their numbers?

Just have underwater speakers on all boats that continually broadcast, “Hey! Get out of the way!” in whale talk. Nonexistent problem solved.

“Violators could face up to $20,000 in fines and one year in prison. The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) on Monday announced that approval for the speed limit had entered the final phase.”

Sure be nice if CONGRESS were required to make laws that throw people into jail and cost them huge amounts of money.

If they’re that worried about the whales, shouldn’t they ban driving pylons for wind turbines too?

Does Congress have the balls to take back their law-making perogative from the unelected bureaucrats?

No. They like it this way so can shrug and act as though there is nothing they can do.

There's a slow train comin'.

Maybe they should ban the construction of off shore wind turbines. That seems to kill more whales than anything.
