The pace of FBI arrests and the opening of new Jan. 6 criminal cases quickened so much in late 2023 and early 2024 that District of Columbia federal courts could bend under the weight.
In the past two months, 93 people have been arrested and charged, according to Department of Justice (DOJ) reports.
At the current rate, some 445 new cases could hit the docket in 2024—more than in 2022 and 2023, according to one estimate.
In total, up to March 6, at least 1,358 people have been arrested by the FBI and criminally charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) for crimes related to Jan. 6.
If the current trend is to hold, total arrests could be 2,150 by the time the statute of limitations on Jan. 6 crimes expires in early 2026, according to Jacob Rugh, associate professor of sociology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Mr. Rugh and researcher Isabella Felin have been publishing Jan. 6 statistics and data visualization on X and Instagram since August 2022.

Of the 769 defendants who pleaded guilty to charges, 69 percent were for misdemeanors and 31 percent for felonies, the DOJ reports.
Some 1,276 defendants were charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, and 486 were charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers.
More than 350 were hit with the controversial “corruptly obstructing, influencing or impeding an official proceeding” charge. The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on April 16 on a challenge to how the DOJ has used 2002-era corporate fraud statutes to prosecute Jan. 6 defendants for interrupting the counting of Electoral College votes.

The term they used in the old days was “chilling effect”.
Sit down and shut up or you could be next....
This is worse, they’re Obamanites.
A mindset which is half Marxist and half Muslim with a common goal.
The death of America and Western man.
You know, I didn’t even go to the J6 Rally but, I’m starting to wish I had, just so I could tell the Feds to “get off my lawn” when they came knocking on my door. (I’d hope that wasn’t enough of a response for them to open fire.)
I wonder if they have “caught” any of the real instigators/perpetrators yet? You know, the guy on the scaffolding with the megaphone, the people who broke windows, the guy dressed in black who waved everyone in, the guy who broke the window that Ashli Babitt went through, the eight guys dressed in black who broke in before anybody else. etc.
Of course the DOJ and FBI learned from working with Hamas the value of hostages. After Trump is elected these poor souls will be used as pawns in negotiations designed to prevent Trump from going after the actual criminals who want to try to remain free. Me thinks Trump will arrest and detain more Senate, Congress Staffers, Capital Police, FBI, DOJ and CIA people than J6 farce has netted.
Trump needs to redirect the DOJ and FBI to hunt for Illegals, Drugs, and Insider Trading to clean up the USG. While in Guyana, we had an LT in the Military Liasion Section who did his primary investigation on the drug trade of cocaine out of Columbia. It goes to Venezuela into Guyana onto small fishing boats to larger boats that cross to Mid Africa, then onto 3 different crime cartels (African, Russian, EU) and skirts the coast up to Tangiers then onward to EU/Russia. In the phone captured from a VN drug kingpin were the names of 2 US DNC Senators, and 5 DNC Sitting Congressmen, and many other US elected officials that were spoken to many times.... Let that sink in. His US Army report was deep sixed, he was reassigned.
Trump would do well to clean up the drug lords in Langley and the Senate to save millions of lives.
Google/NSA know everything you do and say... get your affairs in order.
“47” will do that, once he’s in the WH.
Start a “Tea Party” like movement to “FREE THE DC HOSTAGES”. They are innocent unlike HAMAS and their supporters.
Sure got that right!
If you were alive on J6 and ever thought about being a conservative you are now subject to arrest! Being 500 miles from the capital is no excuse! If you thought that the 2020 election was rigged you are guilty! No need for a trial, just sentencing!!!!
And Michael Byrd is not charged with murdering Ashli Babbitt. They even promoted him to captain for the murder.
Bad people can only do bad things on a large scale with the help of normally good people.
‘It’s my job” and “I’m almost at retirement” are thin salves to rub over a broken conscience and soul.
Interesting because yesterday on our local news radio station, there was a story of two men in my area that had been arrested in the last few days for Jan 6th involvement.
I live in Central Ohio.
WHISTLING DIXIE-—David Axelrod, Obama’s former senior political adviser, observed that Trump’s Biden-induced court battles have given Biden “an opportunity to sell his (gag) strength as a candidate.”
LAUGH BREAK “All these Biden-get Trump indictments, the lawsuits against Trump, and so on, have given Biden a chance to look “indomitable,” look “strong,” look “resilient,” and that’s actually in some ways helped”.
Rotflol.
I wish everyone would get this very fact through their heads....THEY ARE NOT STUPID, NUTS OR CRAZY. THEY ARE EVIL.
They are actually brilliant in the way that they have quietly and doggedly pursued their agenda while most rational thinking people believed that someone, somewhere would stop them.
But that might make their donors uncomfortable. Don't want to rock the boat, don't you know?
They are just keeping “armed insurrection” in the news cycle
The art of “snitching” has now been fully developed and implemented in U.S. society...
The 1930s in the Soviet Union were the model and it has been refined to limits that the Soviets never believed possible...
The people performing these arrests need to go to prison.
