COLUMBIA, S.C. — A prominent Republican National Committee member is proposing two resolutions that would put some distance between the national party and former President Donald Trump — at least for a little bit longer.
The first resolution from Henry Barbour — a longtime member from Mississippi — would prohibit the national party from coordinating with Trump or fundraising with his campaign until he wins enough delegates to be the party’s presumptive nominee.
The draft resolution, in part, states: “The Republican National Committee and its leadership will stay neutral throughout the Presidential primary and not take on additional staff from any of the active Presidential campaigns until a nominee is clearly determined by reaching 1,215 delegates.”
Although Trump has won all of the Republican Party’s primaries and caucuses so far, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has insisted that she plans to stay in the race awhile longer.
Trump has already proposed that his current campaign co-manager, Chris LaCivita, take the reins of the RNC as its chief operating officer. This proposed resolution would slow down the process of Trump’s team effectively taking over the RNC.
Unlike the Biden campaign and the DNC, the Trump campaign and the RNC have yet to launch a joint fundraising committee, which allows the two entities to better coordinate and advance mutual financial interests.
The Trump campaign released a statement Saturday expressing its disapproval of Barbour's measure.
“The primary is over and it is the RNC’s sole responsibility to defeat Joe Biden and win back the White House," LaCivita said. "Efforts to delay that assist Joe Biden in the destruction of our nation. Republicans cannot stand on the sidelines and allow this to happen.”
Barbour is also proposing a second resolution that would bar the RNC from paying Trump’s legal bills.

Henry Barbour is a partner with Capitol Resources LLC, a public affairs consulting firm in Jackson, Miss. He also serves as Mississippi’s national committeeman to the Republican National Committee. Barbour is the nephew of former Republican Governor of Mississippi Haley Barbour.
Henry Barbour attended the University of Mississippi before working as a staff member on former Republican President George H.W. Bush’s 1988 and 1992 presidential campaigns. During the George H.W. Bush administration, Barbour served as deputy White House liaison for the U.S. Department of Energy. Barbour transitioned to work for the Republican National Committee (RNC) as a staff member and director of Team 100, a group of $100,000-level donors first established in 1988 to help elect George H.W. Bush; Barbour remained with the team through 1995.
Over the years, Barbour has also been involved in a number of congressional campaigns as well as Reince Priebus’ successful 2011 campaign for Chairman of the Republican National Committee.
Ah yes the Barbour boys of miss Ipps. Such jerks
What they do is raise money to get safe RINOs elected who won't do much to disturb the agenda. They aren't out to govern. They just want to get paid off to make conservative noises while not doing anything to actually push conservative issues. Good money in being a phoney windbag.
It will be interesting to see how my gop state committeeman and committeewoman vote on this. Have doubts it will get past proposal stage.
Barber - a Bushie.
could we just hang haley barboun and use that as a fundraiser?
what a scumbag...!
NBC = Nothing But Crap.
You & me both. Henry Barbour is the nephew of Haley Barbour, who I used to like back in the day, but knowing what I do now about the Republican establishment, I was most likely wrong about him as well. What Trump has exposed is almost a sickening revelation of these sanctimonious who are traitors.

Real FRs don’t scold typesetting. It’s the Kegord.
They really want to ‘extinct’ themselves.
They could just sit back and pretend to be sane, pretend to ‘be for the common man’ for another four and a half years, and come back later just as powerful as they are used to being..... but their hatred for Trump and us common people compels them to commit party suicide..
That NY case made a big dent in his ready cash, but I think he still has $50 million in money people have given him for his campaign.

Another political Nepo Baby.

Turn over any GOP rock and you’ll find a communist enabler...
IMHO, there isn’t a single RINO scumbag who will NOT vote for the Biden-Obama ticket...
Just remember how the GOP House & Senate obstructed Trump on every issue when he was President...
Every issue accept the SCOTUS...
“I would love a third party”
Why doesn’t the RNC use a few bucks to host a third party of LGBQTXYZ?
Fragment the DNC “Coalition of Freaks”?
I always kinda liked Haley Barbour.
What an absolute shock to find he is nothing but a TRAITOR, lying, corrupt, useless POS.
Quite an eye opener.
