Rick Perry is outta his mind. Phelan is actually an assistant Democrat, AFAIK, just like Strauss before him. It’s this kind of leadership that will ultimately ensure that Texas is just another failed blue state that will ultimately ensure a permanent Democrat lock on the U.S. Presidency via the E.C..

I grew up 14 miles from the Perry’s. Know Rick’s mother and knew his father. But I’ve never met Rick, I am a few years older.
I do not wear the RINO label. It is likely that Rick is repaying and old favor or a connection to the Bush’s, he does not typically act like most RINO’s. This is a Bush connection issue.
Phelan MUST GO. I don’t believe anyone can save him after what he did to Ken Paxton. Phelan is a slimy, back stabbing CA transplant. He is NOT LIKED by anyone I know. Phelan does not deserve to be called a Texan. He lies too much.
